Finally getting a new converter and clutches installed in my 19 a10 car. Does anyone have any experience as to what I can expect for a break in period? Also any info on what to expect as far as gains in the 1/8 vs stock 60” times. Car is currently NA on an E85 tune.

I'm getting 1.6 60fts consistently launching off idle and footbrake on the stock converter and could probably get 1.5x with the transbrake. Given that, I would expect 1.5x on the regular with a converter and maybe touch 1.49 with converter and transbrake. All of this assumes you have traction.

Let me know how it goes. I am looking to go with a converter this summer so its ready for my late fall hero runs later this year.

I have a circle D in mine and run 1.51 60ft's. Sadly when I ordered mine only the boosted version was available so that is whats on my car

There is no break in. Bolt it in and let it rip. Expect 1.4-1.5 sixtys on a drag strip.

Make sure you can dead hook without a converter first.

It has nothing to do with the OP question.
Sure it does. The OP asked what to expect from the new converter and how it would change his 1/8 mile and 60ft times versus stock converter. Maybe I will rephrase my answer then. If he/she does not get full traction on the stock converter, then he/she will not realize any benefit from the aftermarket converter because the 1/8 mile and 60ft. times will likely go up and be worse than the stock converter.

Footbrake 1.5 sixty with some weight reduction.
I’ve taken the seats out. That’s about it. I just can’t justify doing the brakes, K-member, and all the extra shit.
