I agree with this. Racing sucks for this reason. Parity in racing is the dumbest thing ever. I want the best car to walk all over the competition. I remember how the GT350 kept getting restricted more and more until the 5.0 was popped into the GT4 cars. There's no advantage to having a great motor if the sanctioning body ends up determining the winner.

Definitely a nice looking car for gray hairs to drive to the local Cars and Coffee or DQ and show off with. Who wants performance? Looks are way more important.
So you agree it looks way better than the Mustang. Great. But then who is going to race a car like this, no one. A mid engine car that will become an Icon in American racing, if not the world, with an ME powered car that will be close to 1000hp. See, no one will race a car like that.

He didn't say that, not even a little bit, he said it looks good, and made a comparison - totally in a vacuum - to looks vs. performance, nothing slightly implied about his perspective on the looks of a C8 vs. the looks of a GT500.

I know you've seen this used as some kind of debate tactic and thought, "Duh, I'll do that too ...", but that's poor execution dude.

I guess I'm less biased than you. I think the Mustang is good looking, and the C8 is too. I mean, I could talk about the rear view on the C8 - it's not the greatest with those tail lights and all the fake vents everywhere - but I think overall it's good. As long as you are 50 feet or more away from the C8 it's pretty good... right?

It should be interesting to see what happens with the high power versions. The higher powered C7s were reviewed as being dangerous, unfinished, too much power for the chassis... Hopefully GM does a better job on the new chassis.

Ok, all of the jabs aside, brought on by all of the 'stang rock throwing: Yes, the GT500 is a great looking car and as you know I am no Mustang outsider. I like the GT500 and the C8. The back end of the C8 is way too busy and the low wing looks terrible. GM is pitiful when it comes to "fake" stuff like tail pipes that are not functional, really GM? It looks stupid. Why have fake anything. I think the C8 is a little better looking and I would never buy a vette until now. It is the only one I have ever been interested in buying. Still interested in them, just not for purchase.

May the best wing win.

This guy on C8 just got this to the next stage and will be delivered soon. This is one nice looking car. Way better than the GT500. Red looks good. This is a whole other car, not just a Mustang GT with a blower on it.

Just for clarity. The rear vents are not fake.

Here’s a link from a video I did from the C8 exhibit at the Woodward Dream Cruise. I talk about the vents when I do the walk around on the red C8. .

There was a Corvette specialist behind me most of the time. He commented after I was done that he was glad I mentioned the vents being functional because it was one of the most asked questions he’d been getting. Depending on which engine is in the car, one of the side vents is not functional, but let’s face it...the car would look stupid with a side vent on one side but not the other.

Great video. Thanks for the link. Very clear view of the non-fake vents and I appreciate the correction. Two smaller functional vents would be preferred in my opinion over one fake and one real, though.

The extra fake vents always bugged me on the C7 as well. I understand that GM does multiple models of the Corvette and they want the openings the same. It just seems cheesy to have fake vents on a relatively expensive car. If it were my call I would just include all the vents with all the models.

Are you saying it lacks performance? I'm confused.

Well you said who wants performance, looks is what matters. Why don't you learn how to convey your thoughts better.
I think you were asking a question, but you didn't put a question mark at the end. If it was a question; my answer is that I do the best I can with my abilities. I agree I'm not always the greatest communicator.

Have a great day.
