What autocross class(es) for a 2019 GT PP2?

I've been away from Autocross for ~10 years and the rules have changed a lot, but I'd like to get some seat time in my PP2.

I understand it's classed in BS for 2020, right?
As delivered from the factory on the Sport Cup 2 tires, is it eligible for BS? Or would I have to change the tires to something else?

How about CAMC? Those tires are specifically not allowed in CAMC, right?

I'm not interested in modding the car, but if I put in that Steeda clutch spring, would that bump me out of BS to CAMC or ESP?

The PP2 has 10.5 and 11" wheels. That means there's no way I can go to a square setup and remain BS legal, right?

No.

Sport Cup 2s are not strictly speaking BS legal. That said, if you're a novice, it's unlikely that you would have someone protest, as an RE71R is faster anyway.

It should be treated much like shocks. Like for like. No one will care about shift knobs, either.

Nobody is going to protest your clutch spring, call it a comfort and convenience mod.

the tires are not legal, and you’d probably get protested if you went to a regional or national event where there is contingency money on the line, but I fully agree, as a novice, run them locally and get some seat time and make sure you want to commit before putting money down on RE71Rs and/or a new set of wheels. The locals shouldn’t mind (unless you’re whooping up on BS, which shouldn’t likely be the case)

Completely stock, you can run BS. Although from my experience, the Cup2s do not get up to temp quick enough. Went through two full sets out of 8 events. After LTH, tune and e85 had to run ESP. Switched to the BFG Rival S 1.5 so I could run CAM-C, much cheaper $312 each and honestly the car felt better on them. Substantially faster on them as well.

Not really - SC2s are illegal in street classes (since they're TW180) although on regional events it's not really enforced.

Found the stipulation in the rule book. I like to see it in black and white, our regional events are strict. This should definitively answer the question. Regional events yes, national events no.

Other classes not covered would be ESP & STU.

STU is limited to 285mm street tires so not legal stock (and the heavy Mustang is not competitive on such small tires).

ESP has no problem with the Cup 2 's or most other R Compounds.

OE is fine locally, if you run a National event, then a 200+ thread wear is required. Also know as RE71Rs.
