No manual transmission - I will never, ever own one. Unless I get some terrible injury where I can no longer use a clutch.

Not me. I only have room for one car, and the Mustang is about as impractical a car as I can justify. A Corvette might make a fun weekend toy, but I can't imagine trying to DD one.

If they live up to the expectations I will buy one.

They are a GM product so I doubt it will. I see major teething issues the first few years.

Time will tell.

As of right now I plan on a C8. I still have about 2 years left of my 3 year cycle I keep cars. I’m not a brand whore of any manufacturer. The thought of my next car being a used AMG GT was put to the side when I saw the C8. So far, from what I read and seen, it’s a perfect car for me. And if I drive it and not like it, I won’t mind falling back and the AMG.

I'd love to get one in a few years, definitely not in the cards anytime soon though! Currently planning on keeping the Stang for 4-5 more years so I can pay it off and use the previous car payment money to pay off my student loans faster. At that point, down payment for a house and a shiny new (probably used to actually afford it) car for the garage!

All depends on if I can fit in it and when the 2023 or 2024 model comes out. People who buy the 2020 are suckers. Go ahead and be GM's guinea pigs.

I've said the same thing many times! With that said, I just got surgery today on my left knee and I'm only 38. I should heal up pretty good but I know now how quick things can change.

Sorry OP I never answered your original question. NO, I am not currently planning to buy a C8. As of now I'm a manual guy only but if I were to ever change my mind the C8 would be the first car I go to look at. I actually like the C7 rear better and when optioned with the the zo6 or gs package I think it looks pretty incredible. When the time comes it looks like a c7 or a GT 350 will be my most likely choices. For now I'm still having fun with my 5.0 slow!

Full respect for the responsibility! Smart to pay down debt. :)

Yup - I would like to say that I will never own/drive an automatic as a "fun" car, but I've had too many leg injuries. I know it can happen. I would want to figure out a way to actuate the clutch with my arm if my left leg couldn't do it, though. That's how bad the sickness is.

C8 is an incredible package. My current requirement is to have more than two seats in a car though. This way I can enjoy a car with the family.

I plan on keeping mustang for as long as it is not a maintenance nightmare. I do not care if I'm in the fastest vs .... car out there

I probably will. But not for at least 5-7 years. The C9 will probably be out by then. I do the 10 year cycle for me on my cars, and the Mustang has been mine for one. The lack of a 3rd pedal is horrible, and I hope enough people get ticked off that they bring it back. In my head, the Z06 or ZR1 might have one, and with any luck a Grand Sport model down the road much "borrow" the manual. But, if you are cash-strapped and are dumping a ton of money into a totally new platform, throwing your money into a DCT or Auto is the wisest thing to do. If they sell as well as I think they will, then they might be willing to invest more.

Porsche took their 7 speed PDK and used many of the parts to build their manual 7-speed, so let's hope that Tremec kept that in mind when they designed it.

I plan to be in a few years. Still have to get some enjoyment out of my Stang, but I'm optimistic that in 2 to 3 years I'll have one
