Does anyone know if it's possible to create a custom exhaust by purchasing the active exhaust system mufflers and an h-pipe, and then somehow forcing the baffles that quiet the exhaust fully open/removing? This should in theory make the exhaust sound like full time track mode in the active cars if I thinking correctly.
Yeah yeah, you'd be better off just buying a catback. But in theory, would this work?

Another thing to think about/research is in what position do the valves "fail" at when there is an issue with the connection/power source.

It could be that the valves default to fully open when not plugged in (as would be the case in your car) which would give you exactly what you want.

I think AWE sells a remote to work the actuators that just wires to the back of the car without all the hassle.
Yeah - it's loud in track mode. Might want to have the convenience of quieting it when necessary. In early mornings I start the car in quiet mode to keep the neighbors happy.

If you car has the plugs, its a pretty simple plug + play to add the active exhaust and have it function like it came that way. This way you don't have to compromise with system in full open or full closed all the time. Here's a link that goes over everything: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/adding-active-exhaust-on-2018-gt.102308/page-2#post-2440835

Link for info if your car already has the connections: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/adding-active-exhaust-on-2018-gt.102308/page-2#post-2440835

My car has the plugs, just went under and checked it. So is it like I would buy the electronics from Ford and then bolt it in and wire up?

AWE switchpath remote #1325-11012. CJ pony parts sells it. It’s expensive at $229 for just the remote and wiring harness and it’s marketed for the Focus RS. Seems I read in here that some Mustang guys used it on their active exhaust mufflers. I can’t confirm it’ll work on the 550 actuator harnes.

That is my understanding. You'll also need the following harnesses (can get them through Tasca or your local dealer):
QTY 1 JR3Z-14A411-J Wire Assembly - Jumper
QTY 2 JR3Z-14A411-H Wire Assembly - Jumper

Once everything is hooked up, I believe you use Forscan to enable the car to control the valves through the dash. I think a dealer can do this but not 100% sure since I've never used Forscan. Maybe someone else who has can chime in on that.
