Build 18093. I couldn't get it to come up on the scan at home, but could at work, but alas my employer doesn't want anything walking out on flash drives..... so I had to use that link to download at home.

Finally got through Ford’s incredibly laggy website and got the update downloaded. Here’s to hoping.

Mine would not update with the USB drive formatted to FAT32. I had to format it to exFAT like someone said and it worked perfectly. 8GB USB drive/exFAT.

So, did it work? :)
Nope. Yesterday I always got an endlessly spinning circle after clicking on "SYNC software updates" even after disabling ad-blocking extensions, whitelisting the Ford site, using different PC's and different web browsers. Chatted with Ford Support who said they are getting a lot of complaints on this and have notified their web site team. "Sorry, sir. Please try it again tomorrow." Well, tomorrow (today) is no better. Worse yet he could not tell me what the latest build was for my 2018 SYNC 3.0 nor tell me another way to get it. I'm currently running at 3.0 build 17276.

At least I did learn that there are different development branches (build streams) for the different SYNC versions (3.0 vs. 3.3) and that I should never expect my 2018 running 3.0 to upgrade to 3.3 which is for 2019+. I can only expect newer builds within the 3.0 branch. So the best way to mention our SYNC versions would be something like 2018 v3.0.17276.

This is good to know.
Is build 17276 the latest one for v3.0?

The Ford Owner's web site's SYNC update check is working for me today (no changes to my PC/browser). It just let me download a 1.1 GB file named JR3T-14G381-AM.zip for my 2018 running SYNC 3.0. I don't see anything in the contents of the zip file indicating a build # so I guess I'll find out after installation if I end up higher than 17276.

That's the one I got for my '18 a couple days ago, and 17276 was the build I was hoping to update as well. Current version is 18093. Installation took maybe 15 minutes, too.

Really annoying that the video instructions on the website specified a 32GB flash drive, but an 8GB would have worked. I had a ton of 8GB's sitting around but had to go buy a 32GB. At least they're cheap now.

I tried the USB update and the "auto run" never took. I plugged it in, it read the USB, but nothing happened. I drove for about 30 minutes with the USB in and it never upgraded.

It makes zero sense that the auto update via WI-FI requires the car to be running. The whole idea is when it is in the garage/driveway it updates and you don't even notice it. Ford dropped the ball here.
Maybe Ford should hire you !!

After updating with that file, what was the Build version?

I bought a used 2018 last year with under 10K miles and spent a year with the annoying WiFi pop up at every start. I spent hours on the help desk line with no luck. Multiple times trying the USB upgrade, no luck. I finally took it to the dealership and after they had the car for a week for the Sync fix and an oil change it’s been working great.

Yeah, they turned off notifications under WiFi. :giggle:

You’re responding to a post from 11 months ago. If your running 3.0 (for early 18’) the latest version is 19205. If you have 3.3 the current version is 19052.
