So I was told the CFTP equipped cars are faster than a C7 Z06 at the track and the 1/4 mile. The “base” cars are faster in the 1/4 mile and should beat the ZL1 1LE at the track. Hopefully what I was told holds true.
To clarify, are you saying the CF is faster than z06 in both road and 1/4

And then the base is even faster in the 1/4 than the CF?

Not questioning the validity, only clarify thats what you are saying

I think it's this ...

1/4 Mile: Base GT500 > CFTP > Z06 [assuming that puts the ZL1 here]

Track: CFTP > Z06 > Base GT500 > ZL1 1LE
I wonder, and assume, what #'s they are going by then, advertised, or owner's...

Beating 10.95/127 was a given.. but owners on the fast list are mid/deep 10s/134mph..

I like to disassemble things.
It makes me feel like these dealers are just making this up as they go to pacify us guys.
Been trying to tell you that.

Correct this is what I’m implying.

The base GT500 beating the ZL1 1LE on the track might require Cup 2 tires instead of the stock 4s. I’m trying to get some clarity on that one from a source.

It’s incredible if the cost of the painted stripe is 10k and that’s all you get for that upgrade, seems like u could get a great body shop to do that for a lot less and better, I don’t think a full paint job would be 10k, yes I think Ford may have priced themselves at a price point that is going to deter some and of course we don’t know about ADM yet
Will be interesting to see!

I am here to say that Ford should of skipped the painted stripes.

There is absolutely no reason this car should be over $100,000 fully optioned out.

350R slightly more $ than a 500. I wonder how well that will work

Agreed. For me personally I'm going to go with the painted stripes and CFTP, if my dealer gets the golden ticket. I just want the collectability. Not to mention the rarity of such a car with those options. Those that didnt have a deal in place before at MSRP or near it can just forget about. The dealers are already counting their money... The price is what the price is, I'm not happy either, but you have to pay to play.

At least comparing base-to-base it's a little less:

GT350R, before GG tax, Base GT500, $71.395 before GG - and as someone pointed out the GG for the GT500 is twice the GT350/R. That aside, sure, it's very close, and you could add Tech, special color and extra paint treatment (like a black roof) and bring the R flavor just over the price of a no option GT500.

I guess it's really GT350 vs. GT500 base/handling - or - GT350R vs. GT500 + CFTP, then with the latter there's a good $20K+ difference.

It would be kind of an interesting poll: Your Choice, GT350R, any/all options, or GT500, no options. :) (I guess it would be almost the same as "Manual or DCT" ...)

DBK said it would be :(
Decimate? I struggle with that. "Quicker" lap times at big name tracks across the country? I can see that it but it is going to be very close...

Guess I should have quoted.
Price wise it was mentioned that we would take it in the shorts.
as far as track time, he did mention faster than the Zl1-1LE, but yeah, I'm guessing less technical tracks because of weight.
Also, in another thread on the other site we were talking about straight line speed and it came up - litetally as fast as the most expensive Corvette.
Just sayin. Makes no difference to me, I'm sure it will be plenty fast for my standards.

Does this mean that if the dealer doesn't presently have an allocation they aren't going to get one?
Or they haven't talked to their Zone Rep yet. If they entered the 2020 Shelby Program they're entitled to at least one GT350 and one GT500.
