exactly - I can't recall another performance-ish car that ships with a DCT + full factory warranty for under $85k besides the VW DSG in the GLI/GTI and the Porsche PDK in the base Boxter and Caymans...Same here. I don’t care how the selector works, the DCT is going to be a game changer.
It better be. I just learned of the retail cost from Ford Parts and Service and it is insane.I don’t care how the selector works, the DCT is going to be a game changer.
How much is it?It better be. I just learned of the retail cost from Ford Parts and Service and it is insane.
Thanks for the info.Make sure you are sitting down.
Just over $20,000, retail. No mention of a core, at this point anyway, because they simply aren't available (yet). Suddenly, those extended warranties from Ford look very appealing.
Based on the previous 5.8L GT500 engine, along with that of the 5.2L in the GT350, I think it is reasonable to assume the cost of the new 5.2L CPC will be well over $20,000. That puts just the engine and transmission alone for the 2020 GT500 at $40,000 minimum.
Insane. This is madness.
The rest of the car (ed. ignoring GT500 specific parts) is worth ~20k so maybe that's not so crazy after all.reasonable to assume the cost of the new 5.2L CPC will be well over $20,000. That puts just the engine and transmission alone for the 2020 GT500 at $40,000 minimum.
Wait. are you saying if I install a rotary knob in my GT it'll give me a DCT too?If a rotary shifter gives me a DCT in my GT500 - no problemo. At all. In fact, I’d learn to love it.
