Fellow Active Exhaust owners... Question for you....

Do any of you even bother with "Sport Exhaust" mode? I mean... it's just... so pointless IMO. The low RPM of normal with the sound of track-mode above 2.5-3k-ish RPM. I always skip this setting. If I want it quiet (within a few blocks from my house or in a town in general after 10:30 pm or before 9 am) it's in Quiet Exhaust mode, if I want it to sound good but not obnoxious it's in Normal Exhaust mode, if I want it loud it's in Track Exhaust mode. Heck, my "My Mode" setting is just Sport-mode with Track Exhaust (if My Mode was as customizable as it should be, it would be Track throttle, Sport suspension, Track exhaust, TC & LKA enabled ).

Soooo... I'm just curious - does anyone with the AE actively use the "Sport Exhaust" mode? What's your reasoning for using it over Track?

I try to stay in normal/normal and use sport+/sport+ when I want to be sportier. It also keeps the sound and throttle response a bit more of a joy compared to normal. The track exhaust is ok, but it is way to loud for the highway and a no go driving locally. I do find that I like it best when I hit some heavy traffic and need to stay in 1-3. Nice to have every eyeball on you for a mile or two :-).

I'm in sport mode like 80% of the time. Track mode is just too loud and obnoxious for everyday driving in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it sounds incredible and I do use it every once in a while, especially on a nice day with the windows down. Sport mode is just the perfect amount of volume and has the best tone to me. Normal is nice too but lacks the deep rumble of Sport and Track. I've had my car for over a year and I've only used quiet mode like 2-3 times. Never used quiet start mode.

Either way, the adjustability of the exhaust is pretty crazy and worth every penny.

I run Sport mode exhaust (Sport mode suspension 80%, normal mode suspension 20%) 99% of the time. To me, Sport mode exhaust has the better tone and the right amount of crackles when you let off. I honestly can't tell a whole lot of difference between Sport mode and Track mode. I've never even tried Quiet mode. The only time I run Track mode is when I run Track suspension which is rare (either on a Track or when I'm playing in the corners). Track suspension is a little rough for everyday driving on our crappy roads. Getting ready to install an H-pipe to give it just a little more volume. So happy with the Active Exhaust and definitely happy with my decision to get it.

I'm 90% in sport mode. Track cackles too much for me.. Although I do find that sometimes sport mode is too quiet when I rev match on downshifts which is odd. I also use quiet start between the hours of 10pm and 6am. Nice that you can program the hours.

"My Mode" is set to sport exhaust. For me, that seems to be the perfect balance for good volume and tone. I use track mode on surface streets when I can roll the windows down and I'm just cruising. Track exhaust has some drone on the highway so I usually just stick to sport mode. I leave for work around 5 am so I start up in quiet mode. As soon as I'm out of the neighborhood, I put it in sport mode. Normal mode is the mode I have no use for. Active exhaust was worth every penny.

I have a Steeda H pipe so all of my modes are a bit louder. I use normal most of the time, quiet when my wife is with me and track at the drag strip. I never use sport but normal with the H pipe is probably similar to sport with the resonator.

It's still new to me, but I find myself hovering around Sport mode a lot. It sounds very nice, but is not quite as loud as track, while being nice and noticeable.. I also like that cluster layout the most. lol

I thought for a second maybe there's a loophole to not have to hit ok each time anything track is engaged. Tired of that popup, so I put the Track mode exhaust in my mode along with the sport settings.. but nope.. ruined it with that popup. lol, so I just don't have 'my mode' enabled.. I like the sport mode everything I think so far, so it's likely going to be the mode i'm in most of the time.

Adjusting the exhaust sound does not change throttle response. It only changes the sound.

I drive in normal drive mode, with steering on normal and exhaust mode on track. I wish the car would remember what exhaust mode you put it in and would stay there. Hate having to change it every time.

If you adjust it with the switch, it changes suspension and throttle response in addition to exhaust. If you just change exhaust through the menu, it only changes the exhaust.

Sport is my fav, because of the sound and throttle response. But if you want to have some fun, use the paddle shifters, sneak up on some unsuspecting doofus in BMA convertible, get almost next to him, then downshift the hell out of it. The look of horror on his face is priceless.
