I bought the z26 pads and hadn’t planned on changing my stock rotors (or even surfacing them since I’ve only got 7k miles).

However now I’m wondering if I should change the rotors out.

What do you guys think?

American Muscle has them for $330ish.

I'll chime in here on the powerstops.
I had them installed front and rear, no issues for 1 year, but after this winter, the rear rotor hats have rusted out. (fronts were changed to Brembos)
I plan on doing a sanding and painting to remedy it in a few weeks.
Keep in mind that I keep my car outside 24/7.
Just saying.

Thanks, guys!

I have one of their kits on my F150 and I love them.

I was wondering if I would lose any advantages of having the bigger PP1 brakes if I switched over to their rotors from stock? I heard someone saying that going drilled/slotted wasn't the best for drag strip applications but if that is true I wonder why.

My V6 Mustang with 051A Package is approaching 43k miles and the brakes are still decently but im noticing some fade in normal driving. I don’t have a lot of money but I’d like to upgrade the rotors and the PowerStop slotted and drilled one piece rotors look like a good upgrade and aren’t expensive. I was thinking of swapping the stocker rotors and replacing the pads with OEM as they’ve lasted 43k so far so new one so should last as we’ll. My issue is will the rotors improve braking with stock pads and will the zinc finish last as well and not look like iron after a few months or years of driving? My car is garaged but is also my daily driver. Opinions? Comments? I welcome them so please let me hear from you!

Thanks, so they brake better than stock? Fade less? What’s it like driving and using them?

Go with Steeda or Baer 2-piece rotors if you want a performance upgrade, otherwise stick with the stock ones.

At 7k miles, keeping your OEM rotors is a sound decision. The OEM PP rotors are quality bits.

I paired Raybestos 15” slotted sport rotors with Z26 pads when my OEM pieces rusted out after three tough winters. Good combo. If I lived in a salt-free zone, the Steeda two-piece rotors would be on my car.

@bjstang This is off topic an hope OP don't get mad but what you used for the clear on the Hat of the rotors VHT? I am thinking to do the same but i am undecided as have read that the clear can get yellow after several time.

Thanks in advance...
