Is that a Mk2 Escort in the background by any chance...?

Swapped the chrome 5.0 badges for black ones

And fitted the ford performance carbon gear knob.

Just dropped it at Trust Ford Barnsley for the AC pump replacing.

They have a sense of humour, this is the courtesy car, all 84bhp of it.

Finally ordered myself a full set of tyres! Michelin PS4S all around. In the factory spec sizes...

Question - do I need to advise the fitting place (f1autocentres) on torque specs? I vaguely remember the number is different from stock wheels when spacers are involved.

I would. They're not going to fanny around on the computer looking for your exact torque setting themselves.

Last Friday, thanks to GT101, had Pedders coil overs fitted and my wheel studs shortened so I could get my spacers refitted.

Long drive today around some B roads in Essex and am very happy indeed with the result :like:

Managed to get some shots too :)

I can’t profess to be any driving god by a long shot but I do like driving and I really like driving country B roads.
When I first got the Mustang, I took it around some of my favourite local routes and it behaved as I thought it would - sounded great but wasn’t as firm, composed, sure-footed nor confidence inspiring as my M4 (even though that’s a vert).

A set of MPS4S made a BIG difference but I still couldn’t push as hard as I wanted.

I can now....

The ride is now nicely firm and the car rides with road undulations rather than over them, if that makes sense, and doesn’t bounce like I felt it used to.

Cornering is great - I now have so much confidence to enter a bend at speed, trusting that it’ll go where I point it and go round the bend how I steer it.

Downside so far is too much confidence lol..... I can now take bends far faster than I ought too and I can now overtake in places I ought not too - so I do have to reign it back now rather than wishing I could push on more. Also I’m a bit fearful of my left side alloys on left handlers as I now feel I can get right tight to the apex when I’m feeling a little too spirited.

Sorry for long reply but I really do like them :-)

Now if I can only get the gear change to be smoother (and less ponderous as a result) as that’s my only real bugbear now.

How does ride quality compare to your M4? I like the idea of reducing corner roll, but I dont want to ruin the ride when just on a gentle cruise. My old E92 M3 was pretty much spot on.

On current set-up, it’s as firm as the M4 in Sport+ (ie firm) but is more competent.
I do like firm though even on long trips - M4 was always in Sport+ and my Mini is also on firm coil overs - so maybe I’m not best to advise on this.

Am sure more knowledgeable members may be able to advise on how different settings can achieve softer rides, if possible. Or GT101 in Colchester have them on their demo car so maybe they can help.

Swapped the orange side markers for red. They are LED but I’m not wiring them in. Just hated the orange and for £16 it was quicker than painting them.
