I’m sorry but this is somewhat mind shocking to me.

In this spreadsheet I saw a line about enhanced security package,
[DELETED]

Does that mean I can simply change the code and get this feature? Dealer was trying to sell this to me for $395 and labor cost.

If this is that simple, does that mean our car has all the hardware installed, but just doesn’t have this features enabled in ECU?

Thanks.

It may be cheaper/easier for them to just include it in all cars but disable it. Like how Tesla limits battery life with code, even if the cars have the same battery.

It probably depends on how its installed during the production process. If not installing it requires things to be changed up too much, then it's probably all there and tuned out. If it's as easy as just having a plastic placeholder installed instead of a sensor, then it's probably not there. It could also vary on the model (base, pp1, pp2, etc), and also be completely hit or miss. Meaning that your car may have it all installed, where mine wouldn't, simply because of where the cars fell on the production line.

Only way to know is to try, I guess. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it just needs a flash to enable everything.

Anyone know this code of line he's talking about? I cannot find it, and I lost my enhanced security code because I flashed over it. I need to re enable it.
