I've fallen in love with the Bullitt and I want buy one. For multiple reasons, including needing to brush up on my manual transmission skills, I will be in a better position to buy a 2020 Bullitt. So:
  1. Have there been any changes/updates announced by Ford for the 2020 Bullitt?
  2. When does the order system at Ford dealers open for buying a 2020 Bullitt? I read the 2019 order thread on here and it looks like it was right around this time last year (March). Is that expected to be the same this year?
  3. Also in the order thread, there was some discrepancy as to whether X-Plan was allowed or not on the Bullitt - what is the final word on that?

The sales guy laughed at me when I asked about the X Plan on my Bullitt.

I can understand how that might have been the sentiment at one time. But clearly, the Bullitt is not nearly as "limited" as dealers wanted to believe. There's plenty of them available in my area at below MSRP and members on this board have claimed purchases at some great prices too. Besides, some members here have also mention X-Plan as part of their purchases.

1. Nothing has been announced yet and we haven't heard any rumors either.
2. It's always slightly different each year, last year the order guide came out in March but technically the system wouldn't accept orders till early April.
3. At least last year I know that Bullitt was officially not eligible for X-Plan according to Ford. That might have changed or could change this year, but again a total unknown. I'm not sure when you plan to buy exactly, but chances are there will still be leftover 2019s that you could probably get a great deal on too.

Matt - thanks for the reply. Your enthusiasm in the videos is part of why I want a Bullitt.

I am looking at more of a late summer purchase. I would agree with you that 2019s may very well still be available. In my area, there’s at least 200 of them available and some have sat for months on lots. But it would be nice to go through the order process and get a 2020 just for me; this purchase is a toy, I’m in no rush for it to arrive.

Howdy,
I came across your thread and figure I will chip in. As of right now there have not been any changes or updates announced for the 2020MY Bullitt. That is not to say changes will not happen, but as of this moment nothing has been published.

The order bank for the 19MY Mustang will close on 05/03/19 and the 2020MY Mustang order bank will open 05/09/19 with job #1 slated to start on 08/12/19. (This is current as of 01MAR2019.)

The Bullitt is not letter-plan eligible (A/Z/D/X), at least for the 19MY. However, I do not see that changing for the 20MY. (I've attached an invoice for a Bullitt as supporting evidence.) They also do not, at this moment, have any applicable rebates. With the vast amount of units on the ground that are not moving, I do believe it is plausible that FoMoCo will offer dealers an incentive to move any Bullitt they may have, much like what was offered to dealers on the Focus RS. I believe in that instance Ford was giving dealers $4200 to work with when selling the car.

Hope this helps, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

@10Fore Thanks, that's great info! That's exactly what I was looking for. Also, the invoice price on the Bullitt is nowhere near what I thought it was.

You're very welcome, and I am glad the information was of use to you. The difference between invoice and MSRP is pretty slight, at least in my opinion, and is nowhere near what is found on the larger SUVs and Trucks. There is a much greater deviation between invoice and MSRP on those.
