I tried installing the AA spare with supplied jack today. How in the world do you get the jack any type of secured? The instructions say to close the jack till it "grabs" the mounting block. It never "grabs" anything. Following the pictures the jack isn't fully closed yet that is the only way I could get the AA supplied jack some what secure. Even then a good bump is going to dislodge it.

Ideas?

I can't imagine that much power going to one tire...did anybody raise the rear tires and rotate one to see which way the other one turns, yet?

Well, not sure what that's a reference to, but all it says is that it has a different rear end (3.55) and an unknown status on the LSD. As the marketing brochure (see post above) explicitly says that is has some LSD, the assumption would be that it's a clutch pack as in the base Mustangs in the US.

In any event:
  • Ford UK marketing materials state that they do have an LSD,
  • your picture of some unknown internet posting above says they may have an LSD but not the T2R Torsen,
  • every Mustang sold in the US has some type of LSD so it makes no sense to design UK ones with none, and,
  • regardless of type, any LSD they put in the car won't want to tolerate wheel size differences across an axle.

It’s only to get you out of trouble not permanent it’s just to get you to a garage to get the tire fixed simple

The Euro bullitts don’t have lsd so that doesn’t affect them
Not even the clutch pack LSD? Or just not the Torsen?

In the 'States, you can be over 100 miles from the nearest garage (see: Nevada).

Guess you've not traveled in the Southwestern United States. For example, it's 200 miles from Caliente, NV to Tonopah, NV (past the in/famous Area 51). If you stop at the Little A'Le'Inn for a beer and your tire goes flat, you have 100 miles either way on a tire rated for 45MPH in some of the most desolate land you've seen short of the Kalahari, where temperatures can reach 100degF or more in summer (and the pavement is half-again as hot). If you call for a tow the drivers will laugh at you.

I've made this run several times in my Austin-Healey 3000. I carry a fullsize spare, repair plugs and a battery-operated inflater.

Hell, if it's anything like an old Jag, you should carry a spare car. ;)

Heh. Not that bad; drivetrain is rugged and butt-simple, only thing that gives me grief are the SU fuel pumps (usually carry 2 spares, can change one out on the side of the road in 20 minutes). Only stranded me once in over 140K miles, when a newly-rebuilt water pump split its rubber seal bellows.

Nevada does have some interesting roads. This ain't one of them.

So, do the Aussies use 'mobility kits' or donuts?
Had a puncture in my GT vert 120 kms from home in Melbourne, Australia.
What a load of crap that “good luck goo” is.
Roadside service guy did it for me at 10 pm at night.
Lucky I made it home. $500 for new tyre. Shop boys whinging it gives them cancer. $110 for replacement goo.
Bought spare wheel kit, Jack and brace from dealer.
What an absolute crap system for something that was once 10 minutes of inconvenience.

BTW, kept inflator kit - it fits neatly under front passenger seat.
