So I have H pipes on my 18 with active exhaust. Quiet is still very quiet, then normal jumps up the DB very quickly. Sport and Track are what you would expect.

Is there any way to adjust where the little damper sits when on the normal setting?
Thanks for any help.

Is the normal setting a bit too loud? Maybe look at something like a borla resonator if you don't want the stock suitcase.

Yeah just a bit too loud, and I was hoping there was a simple solution with the new CA law. I'll take a look at the Borla option, thanks!

Oh...probably above like 3 or 3.5k. It's not a HUGE deal, but with the new CA law I am a little paranoid. Track mode is right out....it's really loud.

I agree "Normal" is too loud. The "Quiet" setting is what I expected when I want to be quiet. I would use "Quiet" less if the "Normal" was something in-between. I was told the normal was supposed to be like the versions without active exhaust but I don't believe it.

The only thing we can adjust is the burble sound when rpm's are whining down. Not all the time just after being aggressive on the throttle. Starts making more aggressive exhaust noise. If anyone is interested in the tune contact us through here or call us at 313-561-5500 my name is Jake. This is only for active mode exhaust as well on 18 and newer. Thanks everyone.

I agree with op.
if the quiet mode is 1 and track 10, normal is 6, sport is 8. there is a big jump from quiet to normal. I wish FORD could do an update on that.

Just a though, (I know nothing about FORScan)
In FORScan is there a value that's in the programming line that can be changed to open and close the valves to a desired volume?

So I did a little research. The Borla only works with the Borla cat-back system and I'm not looking to replace the whole thing. The only option that will work is the Magnaflow resonator- the rumor is it should be a happy medium between a resonator delete and the stock resonator.
I'm considering it.

Yeah exactly. It sounds great but it's a little aggressive for day to day driving. I would love it if quiet were 1, 4, 6, 10 or something like that.

Why do you have to worry about the new CA law? Your exhaust is OEM so there's no worry. Also, if you're worried about the cops still why not put it in quiet mode when pulled over or interacting with a CHP if you say it's pretty quiet.

The active exhaust seems perfect for CA laws. Dead quiet when you need it, and still loud to enjoy the sound when you can.

That's probably true, but not necessarily. Car and Driver interviewed the Ford guy responsible for exhaust noise levels. Specifically they asked how Ford gets away with such loud exhausts in the Mustang. He basically said that there is no national limits and every town, county, state can have their own limits and can change any time so Ford can't please them all.
