So.....I changed my oil like 3 days ago. I've changed my oil many times before and am very familiar with the whole procedure. Everything went smooth and this time I wanted to put my upr catch can back on because I had a breather setup. I don't know I just thought the car reacted better with a closed system. Anyways!....I do the the complete oil change ( drain/filter/refill etc) and i take off my oil cap breather and put it on a towel in the trunk. The OEM oil cap is in my apartment so i figured when I go to get that ill just put this one back) My wife calls and needs me to run a quick errand. I live in an apartment building with a parking garage so I have to run all the way back to the apartment to hear my wife nag. In the meantime my best friend from college facetimes me show me his brand new baby girl. Time passes. I then go to run the errand my wife initially called me for. I get to the pharmacy and i noticed very very little smoke coming out the hood. Yea.........I forgot to put the oil cap back on. There was oil everywhere but i think it just looked that way and wasnt actually a lot because I checked the dip stick and it was clean and full. Oil on top hood liner, oil all around where the oil cap sits and noticed even some on the grounding wires and stuff. I tried cleaning as much as i could with paper towels. I drove back to the apartment and added a "just incase" amt of fresh oil. Maybe half a quart. I acted impulsively. Not even sure if it was necessary.
So .....I know me and I know that im probably overthinking stuff but today i went on a drive and i don't know, it felt like before all this the boost would come on a lot earlier in my car ( paxton s550) lol. Its a dumb assumption and probably doesn't have anything to do with it but still.....Also, I read (not here) that oil could have gotten into the spark plugs and then I thought maybe that was the reason I was feeling this way. Guys i'm an idiot. I know. Be nice.....but is there anything else I should do?
lol I was reading this old post where it happened to this lady and it was the dealers fault and they pressure washed the engine....i was like OMG! nooooo.
