Steeda update:

Product Development Testing – Daytona Double SARRC/Florida Cup 2018

Regarding the stock engine in the Q500r. What rpms do you take the stock gen 1 s550 to with the GT350 intake manifold. Any concern/issues with the valve springs, pistons and oil pressure?

Last weekend, the #20 Steeda Q500R Mustang achieved two podium finishes in each of the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship events at the Daytona International Speedway using performance parts designed, engineered, and manufactured by Steeda for street Mustangs!

For Release: August 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. EDT

POMPANO BEACH, FL – Steeda Autosports, the world’s largest aftermarket manufacturer of Ford performance equipment and creator of the Q-Series line of high performance bred Mustangs took their #20 Q500R development car to the Daytona International Raceway last weekend and raced aggressively to capture two consecutive 2nd place podium finishes in the hotly contested South Atlantic Road Racing (SARRC) Championship Series.

Competing against purpose-built GT 2 Mustang and Camaro race cars that cost two-to-three times as much, the Q500R driven by V.P. of Operations - Glen Vitale and equipped with the same performance parts and accessories that can be installed on any S550 based Mustang, showcased Steeda’s unsurpassed commitment to engineering and manufacturing the very best performance parts for regular street driven Mustangs.

The Steeda Team is 100% confident that they could have run away with both races had they not encountered reliability issues with two key OEM components that were previously untouched by Steeda. Specifically, we were using the stock OEM fuel system in the Q500R that proved completely adequate in all previous racing testing. But on the high-speed banked portion at Daytona, fuel starvation became an issue at speeds over 170 mph when the g-forces were insane. Solution: We are making modifications to the Q500R fuel pump system that will address the effects of the tremendous G-forces on the high bank at speed. Another issue that we encountered was the Ford EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering) system. Under the same high-speed banked portion of the track, the EPAS would sometimes default to a manual mode – making driving more difficult because the switch to manual verses electronic was unpredictable. We are currently working a on a viable solution for that issue as well.

Nobody on the street would have ever have experienced problems like that – but now you see why we race as often as possible..…it is the testing ground for our performance parts and accessories where we purposely subject them to the most grueling conditions possible so you will never have to worry as you drive your Steeda equipped Mustang.

Remember: Racing either proves the theory or destroys it. That is why we race.

Our performance parts are thoroughly tested in CAD animation, by driving on the street, blasting down the dragstrip, and on the most challenging racetracks around the world. When we encounter a problem, we fix it and go back and retest. Why? Because Speed Matters® is more than just a slogan at Steeda. From ISO 9001:2008 Certified engineering and manufacturing to the creation of limited edition Serialized Steeda Performance Vehicles - Steeda’s strategic intent is to provide ultimate performance with value in the niche automotive marketplace worldwide.

(BTW: Ironically, our Q500R was beaten by a Boss 302R that was also Steeda Equipped!)

What rpms do you guys rev the stock gen 1 S550 coyote too? If you get above 7800rpm, any concerns/issues with valve float, oil pressure, fuel pressure and any concerns with the stock pistons and those oil squirters?

I need this in my life. Can you share the details of it? Will it work with stock steering components and how much weight does it save?

Is it "stronger" than the factory setup and thus are the two forward bracing options (2 and 4 point) unnecessary?

Can it be powdercoated in another color (i.e., endlessly thick and rock resistant gloss black). :)

Does installing one of these mean you no longer have "factory pickup points"?
