Maybe you should take a class on reading comprehension and another on how not to take comments out of context.

I clearly mentioned supercharging and tuning. Go ahead and show up at your local dealer sporting a supercharger with a custom tune loaded on your 2018/2019 GT (as I mentioned), and try getting your warranty honored to fix your "tick" issues?
Nowhere did the OP state anything about a custom tune. And even that doesn't lead to warranty issues, unless your dealership is terrible and you have a horrible relationship with them. And for all you know, the OP is looking at a Ford supercharging system, that's warrantied.

Dealerships make money doing warranty repair work, it's a huge part of their profits bottom line. They are as inclined to report something like a tune to Ford, as you are to report your own video to Youtube for being offensive. My car is tuned, my previous Mustang was tuned, and my Mustang before that was tuned. It has NEVER caused any issue with warranty. Ever.

Now, supercharged with a tune could be an issue, if you're stupid enough to blow your engine. But anyone in that situation should be expecting that Ford will not cover engine issues, unless it's a Ford system that has it's own warranty. And even then, the only thing that wouldn't be covered by the standard warranty would be the engine, that's it. The rest of the car would still have it's normal warranty.

Stop posting incorrect information. We have a hard enough time fighting incorrect ideas as it is.

To be clear, I understand that modifying my vehicles comes with risks. I deleted the DPF and CAT on my Super duty and tuned it. I am willing to take the trade off there.

Most likely I would go with a Ford installed supercharger for those exact reasons, it puts some liability right back on those techs and dealership if something goes wrong. I'm turning 47 on Friday, I'm not into street racing anymore and may never take it to the drag strip. I just want a bad ass daily driver that I can enjoy. My 69 was a hand full at all times...

2 years in a Fiesta doesn't do much for the blood flow!

Keep the comments coming, I do enjoy the different opinions.

Even more the reason to go with a new car; full warranty, that you can also extend. Although you could get an older car still under factory warranty, and then extend it.

That A10 though!!! I've read enough to be convinced it's the way to go for auto lovers.

But ordering exactly what you want, that's the part that sounds the best.

Have you ever worked in a dealership? No, you haven't. Dealerships try to do as little warranty work as possible. They only do warranty work because they are required to do it. They make a much, much higher profit margin by "upselling" work to customers that come in for non-warranty work.

And before you try to argue against that fact, please consider ALL of the independent auto repair shops that are NOT authorized to do any warranty work by any manufacturer. How do they stay in business when competing with factory authorized dealerships if the warranty work you speak of is so profitable? Conversely, every dealership is privately owned. Outside of warranty work (that is required to maintain their dealership franchise), a dealer can refuse service to anyone for any reason. If this warranty work were so lucrative, dealerships could simply choose to do ONLY warranty work. No dealership does this, even though they could. Why? Because they'd be out of business in about a month!

They are as inclined to report something like a tune to Ford, as you are to report your own video to Youtube for being offensive. My car is tuned, my previous Mustang was tuned, and my Mustang before that was tuned. It has NEVER caused any issue with warranty. Ever.

When did I say anything about a warranty for the whole phucking car? YOU are adding context and conflating my entire response, AND confirming what I mentioned about warranty issues with your last paragraph. Do you contradict yourself like this on a regular basis?

Again, take a reading comprehension class. SOON.

A bone stock ‘18+ GT A10 3.55 will do that for you. 1st gear redlines in a little over 1 second, sub-4 second 0-60, 1/4 mile in the 11’s. I’ll probably get flamed for this, but there is really no need for a power adder on an ‘18+ daily driver, unless you are into bragging rights for useless amounts of HP. Watch the YouTube videos — everyone short-shifts.

All hearsay and rumors: Factory recently shut down because of "insufficient parts" or some story. Seems like a lot of people here who had cars on order (including myself) now have build dates starting up again. It may or may not be related to Ford putting in a fix for the engine. They will never tell us but when those cars show up in January we'll see if the tick is gone or not. Seems like you can wait until late winter anyways, right? What's the harm in waiting? Not like you want to drive a brand new Mustang in Colorado for a while.

2018+ improvements were table stakes for my buy-in. It's not just the obvious stuff.

2015-2017 are great also and have almost all the upgrade potential of 18+ so for the right car and price...

if you want like a 700whp daily with all the modern features and conveniences id say a new A10. if you think you might want some big boy power then id go a 15-16 GT 6r80 and go twins.

Get the 18. You won't regret it over a used 15 to 17 car.

My opinion has always been that it is impossible to have too much power. However, as the owner of a 2018 GT A10 with 3.55 gear it is almost impossible to use all of its performance on the street for more than 4 or 5 seconds at a time without either breaking the law or attracting unwanted attention. That is one of the reasons I drag race. I suppose if I lived in Nevada or another extremely rural area I might look at power adders but a stock '18+ GT A10 is a pretty thrilling daily driver.

There's a point here somewhere......

Have you ever worked in a dealership? No, you haven't. Dealerships try to do as little warranty work as possible. They only do warranty work because they are required to do it. They make a much, much higher profit margin by "upselling" work to customers that come in for non-warranty work.
Yes, I have. If you think dealerships are successful in "upselling work" you're kidding yourself. Those days are loooooooooooooong gone. Decades gone.

I have a few friends that work at small shops. They're all different, and cater to different clientel. If you're trying to argue that warranty work at dealerships isn't a big source of income for them, I don't know what to say for reality to make itself known to you.

And please show us ONE time warranty work was refused for mods. Just one. We'll wait.

This is anecdotal. If you don't know what that means, google it.
Son, please check yourself. It's exhausting to deal with your juvenile need to be perceived as King of Mustangs, Knower of All.

You wrote "piss your warranty out the window". Any noob will assume that means the whole enchilada. Choose your words more carefully.

New car, new warranty, new technology. Since a stock A10 will throw you into the low 12’s stock, that should be entertaining enough to hold off the major mod bug until you’re comfortable with the car reliability wise or the warranty is gone.

There’s nothing wrong with the 15-17 GT but the A10 is a leap above the A6. Both are stout transmissions.

I would ultimately drive both and see what you prefer. For a new GT, drive a few on the lot and see if the sound and feel is consistent. At the end of the day, according to the internet every 5.0 comes with the tick and will self destruct the second you take ownership.
Make that 11's stock. With a heavy driver....
