Hey everyone, I just order a 19 PP1 A10 car. I'm starting this thread because it seems most post are about the gen3 are focused on the BBQ tick, piston slap issues, and engine failures all together.

Im looking to hear from the 18+ guys who have some miles on their cars. N/A OR F/I both would be great. I think some positive feedback would ease the mind for me and all the others who have cars on order or the people who are think of purchasing a 18+ GT. I think the car is amazing and would love to hear about it...

I only have 6000 miles on my 2018 but the engine is as quiet as the 3.0 in my Lincoln. I haven't exactly babied the Coyote, either. I ran it at the drag strip the first time with 600 miles on it. Over the summer, it got about 40 passes down the quarter mile. I did the first oil change at 3000 miles - 5w20 Mobil 1 and Motorcraft FL500 filter.

I also had a 2016 GT that had no ticks, clangs, clucks or knocks after 25,000 miles.

I know there are some Coyotes with the issues - both Mustangs and F150s. So far, so good, with mine but I have no idea why some have problems and others do not.

I have a 2018 GT PP1 with a little north of 10k on the clock with no issues what so ever. The only time she has been to the dealer's service bay is for its free oil changes. I have owned many higher performance and high performance cars and this one has stirred up the most excitement I have had with a street car, ever. She is so easy to modify and make her your own. Buy one, drive the heck out of it and flat out enjoy it

Does anyone else have the engine tick but no other issues? That's where I'm at. The car makes the common 2018+ engine tick when it's cold, but otherwise the car has been perfect (knock on wood).

Edit: I should say that despite the tick, the engine has been running strong and smooth.

I've had it for 6 months, 2500 miles.

What I am saying is that I don't see my tick as an issue since the car is running perfect.

So you can count me as "positive reinforcement" :)

Not sure if you got the Premium but as far as the technology in the car I think it's more towards the leading edge of available car technologies. I find it a pleasure to drive and has really good looks. Up to this time my performance minded cars were mostly Chevy or the occasional MOPAR.

To sum it up, this model has great looks, solid base power, modern tech, and always good sounding exhaust. Lastly, there are many mod options. That is why I did decided to give the Mustang a try. So far liking it a lot.

The Whipple is a lot of fun too. I would consider lowing it an 1". That and good sway bars make it rock solid in the corners. Enjoy....

BTW, the tick is just whoop ass trying to get out of the can .

Winner ford in cherry hill, NJ. Yeah I'm sure I'll love it. I loved my 15 premium and I feel the 18 pluses are on another level...

Are you having them do OPG and sprocket?

It's just a theory but I am not aware of the tick occuring with aftermarket OPG. My delivering dealer did them before I got the car. It had 11 miles on it. No tick to date(knock on wood).

Also make sure they use waterwetter and 5w50 syn oil for the Whipple.

This is my plan, Since there have been some issues with the 18+ motors Im gonna go a little slower then I want. If there is no snow or salt on the ground. I'm gonna drive it like I stole for 500 to 1000 as fast as possible. Dump the oil cut filter open if everything is ok, no metal. Then the whipple is going on. Then the car will get put away till April After That. Then drive till the end of fall next year. Hopefully have a few thousand on her. I'll cut the filter open again. If all is good then I'm gonna do LTH with green cats, OPG/CG, and PBD tune. I want to do it all when I get the car but..

Im not gonna lie the new motor has me a little nervous. But That's the reason I made this thread. So all of us in this boat can hear some positive feedback. Makes spend 50 thousand plus on a car exciting again. Unfortunately there are more people on the internet that talk about their bad motors then people who talk about how great their car is running. I hope this thread can change that. IMO this is the best car for the money as of now.
