Hi Fellow Vert Owners,
I'm new to the Mustang family, and this is my 5th convertible to own. As of recently those verts have had windscreen (windstopper).
I toyed with getting a "Love the Drive" ($410) wind deflector. I like the way it looks up top, but not a fan of hooking it to the seat tie downs.
or more to the point, leaving them on the seat with the wind deflector off.

I'm use to the type that fold in the middle , and attach to gromets on the inside of the back seating area. Quick in and out, nothing left behind when you fold it up and easily stores (fits) in the trunk. That said Ford makes such a wind stopper, sadly it is only available in Europe. So I contacted a European Ford dealer and inquired about buying Fords wind stopper. Sadly again, they will not sell to someone not in Europe, (Fords rules, they told me). If I knew someone across the pond, I would have them buy one and ship it to me. Cost about $450 plus shipping, worth it to me to get what I want.

So, I turned to ebay in Europe and found a vendor, with a modest increase $444.60 plus $58.63 shipping is the killer = $503.23 paid thru PayPal.
If anyone is interested here is the link,

I'll get back to everyone once I have it in hand, installed, and reviewed.

I'm sure people will be very interested in an OEM solution.

That said, there are numerous threads on this topic including a solution that meets all your requirements for 1/4th the cost.

No regrets with my “Love the Drive”...no holes to drill and I never have rear seat passengers. Almost two years old and no signs of wear. Took it off this summer and cleaned it in the shower so it sparkles like new.

That's great Bob, I'm glad you have no regrets with your Love the Drive wind screen.
It is very well made, and top quality materials they used.

I will have rear seat passengers in my Mustang, and as I said, I don't want the the tie downs still attached to the seat.
And I don't to have to take the time to remove them.

So I welcome the install and removal by simply folding it the middle to do so.
It fits in the trunk better too.
The grommet holes in the side are OEM with this Wind Screen, and don't look bad in my other cars either.
I'll show pictures after the install.

Looking forward to your review. Will you have to drill any holes to attach?

Drill holes? Yep, just behind where the door would close into the B post and up towards the top.
The wind stopper comes with a template to show you where the small holes are drilled into the plastic,
then a rubber grommet is inserted into the hole to dress it off.

I have the email in my que, from a Ford dealer in London, GB saying they couldn't sell me the part.
It is a European part release only.

The shop I bought it from on ebay is a German shop.
Not sure if they are a authorized Ford Parts Dealer or not:question:

I've heard similar stories with other manufacturers about European dealers not wanting, or not being allowed, to sell Euro spec parts to us in the States. I don't get that, especially in this case. I'd think a wind deflector like that would be an obvious accessory for any convertible. Why Ford would offer them in Europe and not over here makes not sense to me.

Maybe it is a limited test release, just to see if this is something Mustang owners are interested in.
I would have picked a warmer climate to do so.:sun:

We wear t-shirts in the middle of winter here - and drive roof-down even when it's sub-zero - so never understood the need for a wind-stopper/deflector. Maybe they should have picked a climate where people aren't as hardy as us Brits so they might sell a few more to test them properly ? :)

I like it Gary!
But the darn things do keep your hair out of your face.
The one in my M235i F23 works like a charm.
Maybe you should buy a few and ship across the pond for us. :bandit:

After driving a '75 Midget and '80 TR8, the Mustang cockpit is absolutely calm in comparison. I drove as low at 8C quite comfortably with the windows up, the heat and wheel heat on and footwell/dash heat blowing out. Without a windblocker. Was planning on driving on even cooler days but misty rain prevented that.

Totally agree, Johnnybee. My Mustang is my third convertible. The other two being a 1988 Chrysler LeBaron and a 2004 Honda S2000. I've also got a little experience with a few British sports cars because of my Dad, including an MG Midget (1967 model) that I learned to drive an manual tranny in. Like you, I was pleasantly surprised at how calm the driving experience was in my Mustang with the top down. It's also quite a bit better the the top up than the others I've mentioned. Ford did a good job with the top insulation. I think a lot of that is simply because it's a significantly larger car than any of the others but either way, I'm not complaining.
