I'm looking at purchasing a 1993 Mustang GT Convertible. The car is in rough cosmetic shape on the interior, but the outside looks ok. The car turns over, but isn't running. I'm able to get it for $800...

Anyways, i'd love to fix it up and keep it as i've always loved the fox body style...but if it turns out to be too much work, would it be easy to resell?

Thoughts??

I personally would look for a cleaner running car. They aren't that hard to find. Don't know what your intentions or budget are, but the car pictured will cost you thousands of dollars to put back in order.

It will cost you a metric ass ton to get it right and you will never be able to recoup for many years if ever. Much as I loved my fox.. that's the reality. Now if you don't EVER plan to get rid of it they're better ones out there.. check the fox centric forums and be patient..

AOD Vert GT with porno red interior is not a very desirable combo. Add to that the money required to fix the interior alone would be quite a bit. I'd honestly look for a 5 speed 5.0 LX Vert in better condition.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I got a little excited cause I saw a couple hard tops sell for around $1500 with no engine or transmission and stuff missing from the inside, so I thought this was a good idea. I'll pass on this one cause it seems like it's too much of a mission.

Good that you came here. Excellent advice to pass on this one. You will spend less by starting in a better place.
