Ironic that the Mustang Ecoboost doesn’t get much love on this forum but has forced Chevy to improve the Camaro Turbo to increase their sales. Enthusiasts will always embrace their V8’s but the majority of Ponycar fans like the attributes of the Turbos which in most cases are a lot more affordable, better-balanced and plenty fast.

No offense intended, but that's a bit of a stretch. The majority of pony car drivers I've seen in the EcoBoost are women who dont care about a V8 and young guys who either cant afford a V8 or (more commonly) can't afford or don't want to pay insane (but honestly, fair based on all the stupid shit my buddies and I did) insurance rates on a V8.

In honesty, I want both cars to do well. The Challenger as well! It benefits all of us when sales are up for V8 RWD sport coupes.

I agree with on the point that in the looks department I think the newer mustangs look better to more people than the camaro. Both cars are great drivers with the Camaro maybe better on the track with the 1Le and the Mustang a better street car due to the Camaro's peekaboo windows. I don't think anyone would truly be unhappy with either one. Probably not totally happy either :-).

I couldn't get past the interior. I like the latest exteriors, but they lost me on the square vents and gauges.

From the convertible point of view, I love that you can take the top down or up > 0mph and the trunk hides it (yes, I know, we have more trunk space). How many times it doesn't look like it's gonna rain and then - rain - and have to come to a complete stop on the side of the highway or at a red light to put the top up.

Also, I'm pretty sure Al has his numbers mixed up... IIRC, the Camaro only outsold the Mustang 2010-2012. Maybe he's not accounting for "fleet sales" LMAO

I like the Camaro looks and performance but I can't fit in it and you can't see outta it. I like all the new muscle cars. I missed the 60's and had to grow up in the 70's/80's with huge shitty slow cars with weak horsepower. These new era muscle cars are a gift from God IMHO. I think it's cool as shit seeing Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros and Corvettes everywhere. Too bad Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Mercury etc aren't around anymore. Would be awesome to have a modern Firebird, GTO, 442 or Cougar on the road.

I know it's not quite the same thing, but those mid 2000's GTO are really impressive and VERY affordable. It's on my short list.

I just had a 2017 Camaro RS V6 and the Camaro forum I was on most of the emphasis is on the SS and the V8, Second the V6, almost no attention on the I4.

I like both cars but it has to be reliable and everything work, no major problems. The Camaro had major transmission problems- just a badly designed tranny in the A8. If I had got a manual I'd still have a Camaro. I switched to a Mustang GT- the Camaro problems forced me to look elsewhere besides GM and I loved the GT on the test drive so I bought it. The price was also attractive with the rebates and I was able to upgrade to a V8 by getting a base GT.
