4100 with you in it? Driving a car without gas or coolant isn't a good idea, FYI.
Atco scales. With a 1/4 tank of gas.:like:what do you drive that weighs so much? A challenger?

Don’t forget to add clutch, pressure plate, fly wheel, throw out bearing, hydraulic cylinders, and clutch pedal to that 3160 and it’s shifter. I think the difference is closer to +30 lbs; not 118 lbs.

Cheers,

Quarter tank is not how you would weigh a vehicle. Either wet or dry. Any other way yields inaccurate results. A 17 gallon fuel tank is about 120lbs depending on temperature.

AND!?!?!?!?!? almost 30lbs of fluid for the 10 speed vs 6lbs in the 3160.

With a centrifugal supercharger it is more common than with a positive displacement style blower. The Ferrari you mention is turbocharged and it's a small engine at 3.9 liters. They have to wring it out to get the power. With a relatively large engine, that is not necessary.
I guess it's possible, I just don't see Ford having it have max power at the max engine speed, just seems odd to me
One apples to apples comparison is the demon.

6500max engine speed, max power 6400. Very close. With the peaky nature of the coyote I can see it.

They use flex plates which weigh between 5-10 lbs instead of 30+lbs for a flywheel(the dual mass flywheel is probably heavier but too lazy to look up). IIRC the shifter in an auto is pretty much plastic and doesn't do much compared to a manual.

For comparison, a 911 PDK uses about 7 qts which weighs about 14lbs.

I was being facetious. Hence the winky face.

There are so many people on here without a damn clue. Can't be too careful. Although as I say that I normally don't care much haha.

I'd look at a 2013-14 GT500 with that torque monster 5.8 before something like this at twice the price. Gotta be 70-85K

Sigh....

It's no wonder Ford isn't doing so hot lately. They can't seem to bring anything to market in a reasonable timeframe. This new GT500 being a prime example, this thing is going to be stale as month old bread on the countertop by the time it breaks cover. Give us SOMETHING already. The only thing remotely credible sounding to me in this "leak" is the bit on the driveshaft.

And don't get me started on the new Bronco, which should have been revealed or even on the market by now too. And the new Ranger, which is treading well into F150 price terriitory when reasonably equipped, isn't going to be an affordable small truck like the old one was (fail? maybe). Oh yeah, let's admit we can't compete in the car market and shitcan that lineup too.

Sorry, semi-related threadjack rant over.....

Your right when Mitsubishi came out with the last Eclipse it was at car shows and in magazines for almost two years before it hit the showroom floors. There when many remarks that the car was already old by the time it went on sale this is what is rapidly happening to the GT500.

I sort of agree. I mean I’m not a Chevy or Ford guy, I’m a car guy. If the rumours LT5 ZL1 comes out in one or two years, oh boy not sure how fords going to do.

I do believe the mustang will be the better car overall though.

If this information pans out to be true I'm going to be in Corvette land longer than expected. :(

I'm not interested in a 4000+ lbs Mustang. The curb weight of an auto ZL1 Camaro is 3,883 lbs. so Ford should be able to get within 100 lbs. of it with the GT500.

Wow, this is super disappointing. I was already disappointed with the speculated looks of the car, but if these really are the specs, then it’s a flop. Basically a car that’ll get its ass handed to it in the straights by a redeye and get smacked around on track by a 1LE. Please Ford, work some magic and give us at least 750hp/3950lbs
