Fuel pump normal sound? Compare it and let me know.

Fuel pump sound, at semi-fully warmed up car. You can hear it from the driver side rear wheel..or is it something else?

(Like a airplane sound.)

Is that normal??

Sounds like a high pitched whining sound, which a fuel pump could make. Might be normal, don't know unless someone compares and reports back,

Yes, I have searched on youtube and compare it and it was Noticeable on some of the GT’s.

But I will wait if a member on this forum can compare it and let me know.

I have already compare it with some of the videos in youtube and I notice the same sound. Maybe its the 15-17 GT..

Yesterday I didn’t notice it when the car was fully warmed up..

maybe its more noticeable after cold start (65 degrees) and before fully warmed up (95 degrees).

My '18 also does not make this sound, but is also an A10. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Here is another video I have found on youtube with the similar sound. (Airplane sound)

In this video the person is showing another sound in his/hers suspension. But in the background you can here the sound of the fuel pump, which I think is the fuel pump.

Pretty hard to tell what's going on in that last video ... too many noise sources happening.

If you want to hear just the fuel pump sound for a few seconds, record back by the fuel tank and have someone push the clutch in like they were going to start the car and the fuel pump will prime for a few seconds.

Yes the prime part before startup I know. The moment you press the brakes it primes the fuel pump.

Its the low frequency sound you have at the rear end of the car I was asking. (185 F degrees)
Its not that noticeable, you really have to go near the rearwheel (driver side) with your ear to notice it.
Maybe me hearing is too sharp. Haha..

But I have already listen to 2-3 videos on youtube, and the low frequency is there.

Im only 90% sure that its normal.

Sounds like every normally operating fuel pump that I have heard over the years... in many cars....
I can't say I hear it in mine but my exhaust drowns out everything (except the damn BBQ tick). I honestly wouldn't worry too much about it, but maybe mention it to your dealer next time you take the car in for service for peace of mind.
