I just hear injector tick in OPs videos. Don't detect anything other than that.

I set up an appointment at the dealership to see what they say. I hopefully i can listen to other GT's and compare.

I think the OP's engine sounds real close to mine, but sounds like his exhaust isn't stock which masks some noise.

When I go under my car behind the LH front tire (driver's) from 0:26 to 0:32 in Post #9 (recording of hot engine), you can hear some slight ticking. The RH side (passenger) under the car seems more quiet than the LH side (time 0:40 to 0:46) - might be the exhaust pulses in the manifold are louder on the LH side. These cameras pick up stuff you can't hardly hear with your ears it seems. My GT seems pretty quiet when listening to it in person.

Also, the exhaust manifolds on the Coyote are basically tube headers, which came be a little noisy - tinny sounding.

just to remind u, there was a TSB on the driver's side manifold connection for an exhaust leak, for cars manufactured prior to a certain date.

I decided to leave the engine running while going to check the mailbox today at my apartment complex, and I heard the exact same thing for the first time. Had my stang for a month (from 8 miles to 902 now).

It's been almost three weeks now since this thread was started. Has anyone determined if this was normal or not? Getting a little concerned/worried now. It's a little more noticeable in the video than it is in person, but I definitely wouldn't want it to worsen if it's actually a problem.

Thats how mine started. And one engine block later, still not fixed, its a lemon. Sorry to hear that, and good luck.

Here is a video of my ADVANCED tick. I will jump back in here and attach from cell phone.

EDIT: Upload not working, might be an issue with the forum. I will try again later.

Now that's a serious tick. Common sounds from a tick can vary with the motor, injector pulse, exhaust pulse, valve lifter from seal or timing off either from one cam or more than one. Some say or have claimed after first oil change using the wrong weight oil has caused an issue. I've noticed a small tick from my left side header, but plan on changing them out so not too worried. Hope everyone gets there issues resolved, such a shame to have issues with newer cars especially a couple gens later with the motors. I mean the coyote engines been out awhile, these issues should have been long ago dealt with.

I changed my oil with 5w20, which is Fords recommendation and clearly printed in the oil fill cap. It definitely started after my first oil change, but I am unsure about its plausible relation.

Why I lost my confidence in Ford

Listen to my 2nd video in Post #9 (engine at full temperature). It sounds about the same as yours in the video. Mine also sounds a bit quieter in person then in the video. These engines will not be perfectly quiet ... so you have to recognize the small amount of noises they do make.

The video in Post #12 however, there is something wrong going on there. That sounds horrible.

Gotcha. Also followed Ruby's other thread and all of his interactions with Ford are there (if anyone's curious).

Mine is a little bit lower than in person too. I'm taking it to a shop this Thursday for some other work and I'll just see if they can give it a quick look. A friend has a slightly older mustang and said his has always done that and never any issues. Just going to get it checked out though just for a peace of mind.

^^^ Yep, can't hurt to have the shop look at it and see what they think.

Sorry to dig up the old thread, but is this noise still happening with your car? I started hearing the same faint ticking over the weekend, but once you hear it you can't un-hear it. Car's at 2600 miles.

When driving on the left lane passing some dividers, or idling close to a car next to me I can also hear the tick resonate. Same as when parking in between cars.
