My GT350R will likely be my last Ford car.

My last statement to you... please point the whole forum to where I said I was “switching cars”. You are selling yours to get a p car... I’m adding a p car to mine.
That was a generalization - my point still stands but even I’m tired of fighting this fight. Hope Steeda makes a brace for your future Porsche.

I've read all 11 pages, quite frankly the only 911 I would buy would be a GT3, otherwise you're better off buying a Cayman GT4. But I really wouldn't even consider buying a Porsche, just too expensive to maintain as I now keep my cars instead of selling them. Same is true for MB, BMW and Audi, although I will admit I'm a huge Audi fan, just don't care for how much they cost these days. I had an 86 Audi 5000 turbo quattro, damn fine automobile, but when it costs over $500 (in 1993 dollars) to replace 5 injectors, that's a little crazy. Especially when you consider a set of 8 injectors for a GM small block in the mid 80's was around $150.

Its interesting that every car forum I'm on (and there are plenty) there is always someone saying they are jumping ship, or they're done buying (place brand here), or this (brand) is the biggest POS they've every owned. I've owned foreign and domestics, they all have their issues, none of them are perfect. I've set my expectations low enough that I'm not disappointed when things need fixing or there is the occasional rattle or whatever. I've also been very lucky, even with cars that others have had many issues with, I haven't had any problems with. Can't honestly remember the last time I was at a dealer to have something repaired, other than recalls or routine maintenance.

At the end of the day they're just cars. Some think that $60k is too expensive when you can buy a Honda Civic type R for the mid 30's (ugliest performance car I've ever seen). Have you priced a loaded pickup, or Tahoe, or Expedition lately? More expensive. Have you priced any luxury cars from Infiniti, Cadillac, MB, BMW, Lexus? Even more expensive.

Just can't get enuff!
LWB's are a $5200 option, you lose the back seats as well. I never used the seats in my GT350 and probably won't in this car but the seatbacks are nice to flip down for a shelf to place a gym bag etc. The Carrera T pkg w/ leather sport tex seats is a combined $6670 option so really not saving any there

Thanks, love your GBM GT3. Looks great on that model for sure...

$102,100 w/ no options. My order has over $20K in options however

Well I'd do the standard Sport Tex seats... $0 cost. :D

"Seat centers in Sport-Tex in black. In black leather: seat bolsters front, headrests front, steering wheel rim, door handles, door panel armrests, center console main storage compartment lid, and gear lever/selector. Package also includes: ‘911’ logo embroidered in black on headrests. C-pillar trims in Alcantara®"

I also have a couple of T builds that I saved... this specific one is Porsche Code pjksa1s0 and is focused on a minimal build with sports spec still in mind.

I also agree the standard Carrera is fine for most peeps out there... it's fun and handles great. Like I stated before... this Guards Red manual C2 is one I really enjoyed for the time I owned it. The T jusrt steps it up even better since the T now has features and/or options that were previously unavailable for a standard Carrera.

Anyway I think owning a GT350 and a Porsche is a great combination... nothing really more needed in terms of a pair of sporty cars.

Exactly! No disrespect intended at all for people making decisions to move away from this car - but this is a GT350 enthusiast forum after all. Shouldn't talk about this car (including problems and challenges) be the primary focus?

What concern is it of yours what someone else is talking about that has no impact on you? Are you a mod?

No offense but... you're not being forced to read this thread. Your name is red white and blues but you're trying to limit people speaking and conversing freely? Irony.

I guess what NSF1000F and RedWhiteBlues are trying to say is that they prefer to have conversations that revolve around Mustangs as this is a Mustang forum.

Lol no. Imo the GT350 model has attracted those who've had German cars in the past. Thus, expectation of build quality of the GT350 hasn't been satisfied. You have an entire blown engine thread here as well as multiple comments on shoddy build quality. People are dissatisfied, cutting their losses and moving on.
You make it sound like everyone as a whole, all decided to sell their cars - lol.

Blown engine thread is far from accurate. Counting forums users who own gt350s and then making a count of blown engines, including anyone who thinks they heard of someone blowing their engine isn’t very scientific lol. Also take into account people who made their own mistakes, causing the engine to blow (not like they are admitting that!, considering the expense of warranty repair).

Just saying - people move on...but funny to see them hang their hat on any one issue or even build quality when we all knew we were getting a performance bargain in lieu of the Porsche tax.

That said - love me a gt3!!

Not only have I owned many a mustang I have progressed into an R. I plan on enjoying my R for many years to come and still going to buy a GT3. What's wrong with that? Also, it's a natural progression to want more from a car. The GT350 has opened many Mustang owners to see the wonders of a drivers car and the R even more so. This thread is about moving on from an R. Dont like it, read another thread lol

Right?! I know this isn't the correct thread so this is the last I'll say about the blown engine thread, in this thread :) but...

There is some cool data to gather (which they are doing) - like build date vs blown engines, builders vs blown engines. It's just the percentage of blown engines vs owners that I know is not able to be accurate based on gathering data in the way that they are. It's still interesting and I think it would be cool to somehow get REAL data...like somehow figure out how many replacement longblocks or complete engines have been shipped. That data is out there - just most of us don't have access to it.

I agree - this forum is about the GT350, including its weaknesses and its strengths. OF COURSE there will be differences between it and cars that cost a lot more, or for that matter, a lot less. Every manufacturer is aiming for a sweet spot in the market that they can own, and Ford picked the spot where the GT350 drives like a Porsche and costs like a Ford.

The discussion of the 911T prompted me to go and look at the Porsche website to see what you get for what you pay. So, it looks like the T is just a regular 911 with a premium price that's been lightened by 33 pounds, or putting it in more concrete terms, the weight of five gallons of gas. I'm not seeing the charm, actually.

Cool data and accurate of the forum just not the production line. Great for speculation but not for production fact. I am on my second 350, two bad engines (TP, for different reasons) and if my R engine goes it will get another and soldier own. The R is a blast and an incredible performance bargain. I am still buying a GT3 becuase GT3. Maybe I'll keep both maybe not. Who cares lol
