I’m thinking I’m gonna add a P car to the stable... possibly. I found out today that you have to have a “pedigree” to get a GT-anything at the P-car dealer. Apparently you can’t just walk up and join the GT crowd. So... who knows when it will be.

I tend to agree with a lot of what you said man. My trunk has never been inline, my rear bumper is developing a nice gap, interior panels are all out of wack, oil consumption in my car seems to vary a lot. I dearly love the car and do plan on keeping it for many many years mainly because its got such high mileage and no one wants to give me a reasonable price for it. Last year my dad bought a 17 Panamera and the quality of everything is outstanding. The paint is perfect, panels are all aligned, service center is the best I've seen and will do anything to fix any issues there are. Once you're ready for the Porsche holler at me. A good friend of mine is the GM at the dealership my dad got his car from. No markups of specialty cars. Someone once said on here that the R is a gateway to a GT3, such a true statement.

There are lots of non-dealers who will sell you a GT-something if you have the money to buy it.

Keep in mind that Porsche's have their quirks too, and some models are money-pits. If you buy a Ford, you know what you're getting because you've had them, and been disappointed by them, before. It'll take a while to develop the same knowledge for Porsche's. It'll be painful and every little problem will cost a lot more than any Ford ever did.

That's what I always heard as well. Three weeks after taking delivery of my 718 GTS, the dealer offered me a 2016 GT3 RS. It was slightly used in perfect condition with less than 2000 miles. Bought new by one of their customers that had previously purchased 14 Porsche's in a 8 year period. A used Porsche with a $25,000 ADM over the 2016 sticker.

Welcome to world of Porsche GT3 waiting lists. Getting one is similar to getting a ceramic stainless steel Rolex Daytona. In other words, the more you've bought in the past, the higher up you'll be on the waiting lists.

Might I suggest you look at a 911 Carrera T. If you're not hard a core a track junkie, it will likely give you just as much driving pleasure for the road as a GT3, and at 2/3 the price. I'd spec my Carrera T bare bones, but with the carbon fiber sport racing buckets, which includes a rear seat delete - making it the lightest variant.

The 911 T is the next best ticket IMO.... if I didn't have my GT3 then the 911 Carrera T (coupe no sunroof, manual, cf buckets, RWS) would be what I would opt for. Keep the options to a minimum and you have one heck of a package in the T. Don't rule out the 991.1 GT3 neither... prices have come down below msrp and that's a nice deal. Feel free to reach out to me anytime if you ever want advice or another opinion when you're ready.

Out of all the sports cars I have (or had) the GT3 would still be my sole keeper. That beast screaming at 9k RPM is unparalleled even vs. the GT350R, which we all know sounds great, but the new Motorsport-derived 4.0 flat 6 in the 991.2 GT3/GT3RS is pure race-spec adrenaline that also sounds out of this world.

Anyway GL Fred.... can't go wrong with any 911 IMHO.

No. Stanglife was hyperbolating that I was trashing my R and ready to be done with it. He simply misread my take and then tried to use my own words against me.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to have an R, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Harry investing in me. I’m disappointed in Ford car quality and service, and that has motivated me to look elsewhere for a performance car.

. No, I didn’t try - I DID use your words against you...your words...and sadly, I didn’t have to look very hard. I’ve never seen more of a purchase confirming boyscout for the GT350 flip-flop so quickly and then explain it away, over and over.
