My GT350R will likely be my last Ford car.

Well, my 2013 Boss 302 was not flawless but it was light years above the quality of this GT350R. I love this car but dayum... the quality sucks. My Boss was $45k, my GT350R was $67k.

I look at my car today and so far here’s the list of issues:
1) rear bumper sag,
2) front bumper popping out on left front behind marker light,
3) lugs for factory wheels have popped the caps,
4) left rear seat belt clasp has a broken tab and won’t secure,
5) paper thin paint has nicks up front and in quarters,
6) front left fender vent lifting,
7) rear quarter window rubber lifting,
8) edited to add rear emblem broke.

I’m not gonna jinx myself on the engine...

Told my wife last night that I won’t buy another performance car till I can secure a GT3. Moving on... after 50+ Fords in our family it sucks that it has come to this but Fords issues are not skin deep. My Raptor has been good so far, and every Ford truck I’ve had, save the 2004 F150 with the crap 5.4 triton plug issue, has been awesome.

See ya Ford!

I think I may be with you. Though I’ve had none of the issues with my non R that you have had with yours, I may just be ready for a P car for my next new (to me) performance machine. I’ll always have my 88 GT (my first mustang) though for my street brawler/strip car.

That was my position as well after my 15 S550. I broke my promise to myself to not buy another Ford with my GT350 because it just sounded so cool. I already got my P car and the Shelby will be enjoyed the rest of this season and go into storage for winter before selling it next spring. So far, knock wood, no issues other than the normal tramlining and nervous steering.

It's so hit or miss other than bumper sag my 16 and 17 are virtually flawless. The 17s bumper was perfect but I did notice slight movement on it. The 16 does have two specs in the paint that I couldn't get out but whatever, I didn't expect it to rival our Porsches.

This is my main dilemma with the upcoming GT 500 even more expensive but same shit quality control and dumbass dealership people. I mean jokes on me if I buy an 80K GT 500 with shitty paint and panel alignment ? Ford is its own worst enemy in the car business.

I’ve had a lot of performance cars over the years. And yes, the R was expensive but worth it to me. It’s a sweet all American car that perform and looks great. I’ve had none of the issues you describe but can certainly understand your frustration. I’ve been a ford man for a long time and LOVE my Super Duty... The car is an instant classic that I think the car world will look back on as one of the best American made performance cars ever. Porches rock ass though and I like to have one... I almost bought a twin turbo but settled on the R after months of debate with Family and Friends. To each his own.

Stop with the negative posts about our cars. I'm trying to sell mine! :)

I like to disassemble things.
#4.....left rear seat belt clasp. On an R?

I have grown to have a different outlook. Give me the basics and I'll clean up the flaws with my own level of detail. My '09 GT500 was very well executed in terms of engineering (for the time) and assembly. The '16 GT350 I sold last year wasn't as polished but it wasn't anything I couldn't take care of myself. I'm working on a Fox coupe build at the moment and it if you want to talk about garbage...

Fred, if I were you I'd get the Porsche. Life is too short to think about it but not do it if you have the means. Just don't be disappointed when I creep up next to you in my new (and imperfect!) GT500. I'll be happy to point out every flaw with a smile.

A little funny. The differences in q.c between Porsche and Ford have been heavily discussed - most of us were eager to acknowledge and accept the difference for a half-priced GT3 competitor. Are we now going to act surprised the the GT350 is the car that we asked for and bought?

You know I love you like a brother man... but fixing that laundry list on a $67k car just 2 years old is a little much for me.

My 2014 Fusion Hybrid was a little better than this and it had its issues as well. I think Ford has to step up their game before I’ll get anything other than a truck.

The performance was the sell... the quality was an unknown at the time. Add in the mystery with the engines that no one’s magic 8 ball can lock down as the cause and you have a technological marvel in a Pandora’s box... kinda like having Jessica Biel under the sheets but Oprah out in the daylight.

Did any of you called ford and said we would like the ultimate track machine and to save money please don't do QC / panel alignment, also its ok for the bumper to sag and we are good with intermittent crappy paint jobs.

But yes the car is awesome to drive
