Hi all,

So here is my thoughts of adding a subwoofer and amp to my 2018 GT Premium without the shaker sub.

Kicker KXA400.1 (I like this amp due to the RMS output and the wireless remote) https://www.hifisoundconnection.com...ssory-Kit-3-Year-Warranty-KICKER17-AMP-PACK21

Zenclosures single 10" driver side box with a good place for an amp.

And last a kicker 10" CompR

Now, I am not looking for crazy window breaking bass; however, I have zero bass in this premium system and it drives me crazy.

With that, does this seem like a solid build. Also, last question, I will be tapping into the speakers with a Kicker KISL. What is the best place to tap into? Rear deck or pre amp? Thanks in advance and I will do a write up once I start this project.

Seems like a solid plan. Since you are only going with 1 sub, I would use a 12" just because you can always turn it down to get less bass but can't always turn it up enough. Zenclosures makes a single 12 box if I'm not mistaken.
One other thing... while your amp is capable of driving a 1ohm load, for a daily driver, I don't recommend it. The Kicker is also available in a dual 4ohm configuration which would still put you at a potential "400w" output capability but would be a little easier on your components.
10" 4ohm DVC: https://www.hifisoundconnection.com...0W-RMS-4-Ohm-DVC-Car-Subwoofer-KIC16-43CWR104

12" 4ohm DVC: https://www.hifisoundconnection.com...0W-RMS-4-Ohm-DVC-Car-Subwoofer-KIC16-43CWR124

I originally had a zen enclosure style box ( knock off that didnt fit too well), and I didnt like the amount of trunk space it took up and didnt allow to fold down the seats if I ever had to carry anything longer than 4'

I ended picked up a set of these boxes for 12" subs. One on either side, they sound good, fit perfect and dont take up too much space.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. With the KXA400.1 it has the rating of 200w RMS @ 4ohms and 400w RMS@ 2ohms. So for a daily I should get the 4ohms for less stress on the components? Also, do you know which is better, preamp or post amp for the KISL? The KISL is just speaker to RCA not a LOC.

I don't think bass signal is sent to the rear deck speakers.
My idea was to move the rear deck speaker wires to the front door speaker amp output terminals, and then use a high-level-input amp for the subwoofer.

This is your primary challenge in getting bass from the 9-speaker car.
