You do seem to have a lot of issues with your cars!
I beg your pardon?? I hope you are not trying to be condescending with that statement?

You may not be aware that practically every Focus RS mk111 has a recall for a new head gasket. So “I” don’t specifically have an issue, “every” RS owner does.

In truth I don’t have any issues with the Mustang, it’s the dealer who did the tepairs I have an issue with. Oh and by the way, Bristol Street Gloucester are a Ford store who sells, repairs and services every Ford on the UK market.

Oh yeah, and the body shop are supposed to be one of the best in the country!!

Every dealer says this xD! Mine also are, and I've heard others say it about ones downsouth....

Mine have been alright, although I've never had anything like yours done. The real test is on the 25th when the beast goes in to be the first UK car to get the Timing Cover gasket refitted properly - For ref from factory 4 blobs of silicone RTV are used on the gasket and under pressure the timing cover can open up slightly to 'sweat' oil onto the cover, they will be removing gasket and sealer, fitting the new one, and sealing around the entire edge of the gasket to prevent it sweating again.

I’m looking for a good dealer to carry out the recall on my RS. If BS can’t put a door together, how on earth could they fit a head gasket correctly??
I've a friend who's taking his recalled Focus RS to Jackson Ford, Henley Arden.
Says he won't take his RS anywhere else.

The timing cover on the Flat 4’s from Subaru are massive, and have no gasket at all, just three bond sealant. I’ve built a couple and capn confirm they dont leak at all.

I’ll take a look later at the engine data for the 2.3 and see what’s leaking. It may be worthwhile leaving the gasket out, unless of course it’s an “O” ring type?

Thanks for this!!

Great isn’t it, Ford stated the HG and head design on the Mustang EB were not up to the job of giving a reliable 350HP. Then... they fitted a Mustang HG to nearly every RS built? WTF??

Thats not such a big issue for me, but having it repaired at BS is.

The whole sump on my TVR was sealed with Silicon, as was the gearbox on my Ducato van and the diffs on my jeeps..

If the right stuff is used and applied correctly it won’t leak..:clap2:

Not a clue, it's got 3 or 4 blodges of silicone to hold it on from what I can see, it's a gasket ring (rubber one?) goes into a grove and when torqued is held down, issue is, it's awkwardly shaped and the 3 blobs aren't enough for the turbo side; it needs the whole thing sealing down with silicone.
