Hi folks

Recently joined the family having just got my first Mustang. I have wanted one for years but was always worried how it would handle on UK(NI) roads. But decided to make the jump before we are forced into EV 🤢. Loving it so far and starting to think about new wheels etc. Thought Id share this story for a lazy Sunday.

Just before lunch some wee lad knocked my door asking to take photos of my cars. I have an E46 M3 Coupe and the Mustang GT 5.0 manual. I went out and started them up for him and let him sit in them, he said he preferred the Mustang. Opened the bonnet and showed him the V8 lump, he was over the moon. We have got to keep the dream alive and dont let the ICE die. He gave me a fist pump before he left, he probably thinks I made his day but in fact he made mine knowing there are still some petrol heads coming through 😊👊🏻

Welcome, Paul...and congrats! great choice :sunglasses:

And how are you finding the handling? Not sure if/how much yours is modified, but in stock form, the Mustang suspension can feel a bit floaty. Cheap and cheerful fix is some lowering springs, makes a world of difference.

Do share any ideas for wheels, mods in general. You'll always find someone on this forum that's been there, done that & will have great input.

Much appreciated, currently looking at black wheels for it or possibly just change the colour of the alloys that are on it now.

Handling is so much better than I expected probably helps that they moved away from leaf springs to independent rear suspension. And the roads here are atrocious by the way!!

As for mods, I'm thinking of getting black alloys for it or maybe just refurb the ones that are on it and paint them black. Also gloss black vinyl wrap on the roof and wing mirrors, but will hold off on that until I decide what to do with the alloys. If I were a few years younger I'd probably put a H Pipe exhaust on but my neighbours think it's loud enough 🤣🤣. Oh and a boot lid spoiler will also be needed, don't want anything OTT, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know 👍🏻

as you have a pre facelift model like mine you can get the Varex switchable exhaust which means quiet as OEM whenever you like or a little bit more sporty when not in your own neighbourhood. It's very very handy esp for pre dawn work starts :sunglasses: I'd be tempted to fix an H-pipe instead of the supplied suitcase front silencer, weirdly EU customers dont get the choice but US customers can chose X or H pipe for the front. Strange

Thanks pal, yea that blue is nice (is it called deep impact blue?) and the decals along the bonnet (hood) roof, boot (trunk) are not too dark. When I went to look at the car the dealership had 2. One was all white with no decals and was an auto, then they had this one plus it's a manual which IMHO is the best option for a drivers car. Very happy I went with this one, plus it matches my E46 M3 which is mystic blue.

The registration number came with the car, I was surprised the dealer didn't take it off to sell. I checked online and any plate with MUS in it are up for sale in around £500-£600 sterling $630 - $750 dollars.

Happy for any advice on the changes, and if anyone has Blackout wheels on a blue mustang can you let me know where to find pics on the forum.

Really appreciate the photos mate, gives me a better idea of how they would look. I currently have the same alloys but in silver, if or when I get around to it I might also get the smoked rear light covers and de-chrome the trim around the doors.

Hi pal, appreciate that, will check if it is still for sale when I get around to the mods. Want to live with the car for a bit before starting anything, that way I know what bugs me and what doesn't if you know what I mean.
