Roger that
If you do this and can get a little more edge distance this fix will be rock solid. What is the clearance with the tail light installed? Is it close? My tail lights as is have scrubbed on the bumper and the trunk lid..

As you can see I used a different screw that has a taller head because this what I had laying around and it doesn't hit the taillight at all.

I am just glad the gap is gone. It made the car look really awful specially a 60k + car.

This is the way I would do it if I were do it all over but I already drilled a hole and mine works just fine.

Truss head screw

Nylon insert. Shorten the insert so it will only go deep as the cars bumper and not into the bracket. By doing this it will have more reinforcement and the screw will not contact the hole that you drilled.

Rubber bondded washer to keep the paint from getting scratched and better contact with the bumper.

Buy a longer u nut but not too long. Drill a hole towards the middle corner of the bumper so the hole and u nut line up.

Make sure the thickness on the head of the screw, washer and the insert is small as possible.

Ok I went ahead and changed the screw and added a washer. Something I had laying around.

Force gauge attached to the bumper.sorry for the bad quality pictures but holding the force gauge and pulling on it and taking picture is little difficult. I pulled on it as hard as I could and as you can see almost 40 lbs of force and the bumper didn't even budge.

Pulled as hard as you could? Does this mean we have a quantifiable measure of Niz55's max strength at 40 pounds? :D

Kidding. Nice work, and will keep in mind for future. I think my bumper senses when people on the forums talk about the gap, and then it opens up more just to spite me. Some kind of strange cosmic car connection.

Thanks @ Niz55 for taking the time to post this. All we need now is a DIY video.

Curious how this fix has held up for those that did it back in 2018?

I just purchased a low mile 2019 model and it has the sagging bumper.
