except the fact that everyone who reviews says its got super car performance for half the cost. only special thing about thr gt350 is the motor, which if you take a look at the gt350 section isn't the greatest for reliability. and tell me how Ford's chassis and suspension are better, the zl1 best it, and please leave out the oh is supercharged crap you should like camaro guys towards the terminator, the zl1 can be had cheaper then the r, by a good margin, and still beats it, and let's not compare the track zl1 1le to the track gt350r. only thing ford does better is daily livability.
Lol, yeah, I remember all the Camaro guys complaining about the superchargers on the Cobras (03/04). It's funny how the tables have turned. Camaro just followed suit and slapped the superchargers on their cars.

But if you are going to compare cars:
-4 banger turbo charged vs. 4 banger turbo charged
-standard GT vs. standard SS
-PP1 vs. whatever the next step up from the standard SS is.
-PP2 GT vs. 1LE SS
-Z/28 vs. the GT350
-ZL1 vs. GT500

Any other comparisons is apples vs oranges

So we can't test the GT350 because Chevy isn't currently making a Z28. We can't test a ZL1 because Ford isn't currently making a GT500. We can't test the ZL1 1LE because Ford doesn't have a competitor.

Oh good, more space for minivan and SUV tests.

Who's paying Randy that might explain why some cars win and some don't. If someone is general Motors Trend then you'll deliver the results your being paid for.

You can test those all day long every day. The tests won't be relevant though. Test a minivan against the mismatched ones too, that would be a fun comparison, lol.

The cars tested were the fastest standard V8 versions availible at the time. They were close on price.

From all reports, now two months or more after the test. The handful of PP2 that have been delivered don't even have all the right hardware (spoilers & splitters) and so it seems unlikely Ford is even now providing PP2's for magazines tests.

No one here would have complained if the Mustang had won. I am actually surprised that you guys didn't claim a win based on the fact that the Mustang won in a standing mile, on an oddball surface.

Testing a limited production GT350 against a much cheaper, and much more widely availible 1LE like someone suggested makes no sense. Certainly less than this test.

I wouldn't mind reading about tests like those even though the cars weren't available in the same model years.

On the other hand, maybe not. More minivan/SUV wastes of print would give me a better chance of catching up with my reading

Yeah, makes no sense to me either. If they tested a GT500 against and a SS that test wouldn't make sense to me.

I'm not brand loyal but do tend to buy Mustangs. I appreciate all cars.

I do like seeing tests between cars are not competitors but those tests aren't relevant. If the cars aren't available then you can't do an accurate test. Plain and simple. In this case and ones like this one, people get the wrong impression from the results.

how so both are the cheaper track cars for each brand, now a gt350r against a ss 1le is stupid or a zl1 against a gt350 is stupid but 1le vs gt350 they are both companies cheaper track car

A - $10,000 price difference, maybe $15,000 with actual street price (ADM vs invoice) makes for a bad comparison.
B - ZL1 1LE is the top Camaro, regular ZL1 is #2, SS 1LE is #3. #3 Mustang is now PP2, was PP at time of test.

Where is this guy getting these numbers from? I’m just curious as I’d like to look into them further. Does he ever cite sources?
He does, however it's a site you have to pay to access the information. Needless to say, none have yet to verify any of the data he posts.
