It’s the shit. Just did my second tune revision pull with the 350 mani and the Fore setup, and with only 19* of timing, it pulls like a fright train!!

Wish I could give you some straight info there to help you out, but I never had the Roush tune with mine. I had a somewhat local shop install their own tune at first, but wasn't quite what I wanted so I went with Lund. I added a couple items John (Lund) suggested, and it now runs strong and smooth. Got some more horses over my first tune as well.

In some ways it makes sense to go this route as a '15 might fetch 26K used and a new Premium GT will be about 40K, so for the same price you get a durable 700rwhp car. Of course, you still have a mushy handling car unless you do suspension as well.
That was my logic.... I told my wife I "saved" us money buying a 15 and modifying it the way I wanted it vs. buying a new one with no modifications. She didn't buy it lol. The only thing I may have considered doing different is finding a car with a SC already installed... but then you have to roll the dice on the quality of the install, and how the car was driven.

Correct, you can't save the Roush tune. If you go with an aftermarket tune, the tuner will send you a stock tune along with the the new tune. The first step is to overwrite the Roush tune with a stock tune, then overwrite the stock tune with the upgraded tune. Once you overwrite the Roush tune it is gone and the only way to get it back is to send your PCM back to Roush (for a fee of course) or take the car to a authorized Roush dealer so they can reinstall it. My car definitely runs better with the VMP tune but it is a process to get there... expect some hiccups.

As far as boosted life... I have had various turbocharged vehicles for the past 25 years, a couple heavily modified. I wanted this car to have less maintenance and drama which so far is the case, but anytime you start adding this much horsepower to a stock platform you have to be aware you are flirting with things breaking. Even though I've had much faster vehicles, this car is a blast to drive and has plenty of power for me on the street.

Dealing with the anxiety and lack of patience now of having dropped the car off at my local shop this week to get the Whipple Gen3 Stage 1 kit installed on my '16 auto.
Hopefully I can tell you about first impressions in a week or two.

This will be my first blower car as well and I'm really excited. After reading up here a bit I decided on the Stage 1 plus the OPG upgrade. Got the kit on Black Friday so in it for $6,800 (guess MRSP is $8,500'ish otherwise?) and install should come in around $2,500 or so. Worth every dime ... :)

Can't. Wait.

I personally love it, its funny 1st gear is useless, once boost starts rolling in during a 2nd gear pull second is pretty much useless, from a roll I can hook in third but the thing about boost is you don't want to be able to hook in third lol.

Regarding what else you'll need, I would definitely recommend OPG's, Larger injectors ie ID1050x or ID1300 or similar. I would probably skip the BAP if I could do it again and just go with a full fuel system upgrade. Tires, definitely tires.

Yeah keep us updated on how it goes. How much power do you gain from stage 1?

I'm running a Stage 2 D1 Procharger, Exedy Stage 3 clutch, Pypes headers. I have a Sai Li fuel system sitting in my garage. I will be installing in the spring to run e85. Even right now, the car is insane. I honestly have no desire to drive a stock GT. They are slooooow.

Anyway, I would advise learning about your car. Turning a wrench is not that hard. And the money I save not paying somebody to do the work allows me to buy more parts. For instance, I saved about $1000 installing my Procharger myself, which allowed me to buy the fuel system. The money I save installing my own OPGs and crank sprocket allowed me to buy headers.

I'm about done with this car. I'll be waiting for the next redesign to go all out. I'll be doing a built motor with a badass turbo, coilovers or bags, the works. This is my first performance car build so I'm just getting my feet wet.

So, figure out your next mod. But the parts. Watch some YouTube videos about how to install it. Even cheap mods will allow you to buy tools with the money saved doing it yourself.

I'm not sure what to expect really but I had it dyno'd before the install and they'll dyno it again when it's done - I guess I'd like to see right around 600whp (from the 380whp before). Only other mod is the AB and H-pipe and I'll be running the canned tune and 93.

If I'm really lucky I can get the car this week, they made some good progress over the weekend and the blower might already be on the car!!

Just boost it.Center kits can be picked up cheap now used
Find a reputable tuner and don't boost it too much and you'll be fine from a DD standpoint

That’s how I found mine. All the mods in my sig came on the car. I got the receipts of the shops that did the work. My runs great so far. Kinda ridiculous with 3.73s but I’m not changing anything.

I wanted a Whipple, but got such a great deal on the Roush Phase 2, I couldn't turn it down.

2 Things:

1. you will get used to it, then you will have a few days where you don't drive it and you will get back in it and realize you almost f#@ked up when you put your foot in it again :)

2. if you have a manual, 3 gear 60 roll ... watch the front end come up, go to forth, watch the tach blink red as you bust ass past 110. :D
