I'm not going to lie - I have a little FOMO in my blood and I don't always keep, even my most loved cars, for that long..

With Ford leaning heavily towards hybrid or even full electric (which they are hinting at being super fast)... It kinda solidifies the GT350 position as something special. I mean, it's never going to be the fastest in a straight line but I think it will continue to be one of the most enjoyable drivers car out there for quite a while.

Even with the GT500 pending - how fast will it need to be to compete with full electric? I can tell you, REALLY fast. Not sure how long they will continue going down that path at that point.

Mach 1 SUV? WTF?

I also agree and think I'll keep both R's at this point and see what the 500 winds up being.

We probably own the best that Ford will ever produce.

That's what I'm getting at. While I always could have more HP...the 350 was never designed to be the fastest in a straight line.... Even the automatic GT can best it at this point. What it WAS designed for - was being a fantastic drivers car and the effort went way past marketing - which seems to be what they are focusing on now.

Keep the weight under control, add a bunch of manageable HP, incorporate the lessons learned in the 350, and you have an heir apparent.

Cut corners and you have a dud.

At this point, I feel management has put constraints on future development and by the grace of God this 500 turns out to be something, it will only be because of the work and development done thus far.

I believe we have seen the mustangs best days.

The 350 will be special for a long time. And I suspect be very special in 20 years

It’s like a GT3. Not the fastest, but a drivers car. And of course uniqueness from the voodoo. Speed isn’t everything. If people just wanted whatever the fastest car is, why would anyone buy ferriaris? They’d just buy Z06s and ZR1s.

100%, Tom. The writing is on the wall, for sure.... I agree with you but I do have to remind myself that we've (car guys) been singing a similar tune for years. Maybe it's because, even though we love it, common sense tells us how ridiculous it is for manufacturers to offer cars like these. Part of me thinks that as long as they have a Mustang line, they will want a halo car of some kind to help promote it.

I totally agree... I'm not a huge Ford follower, the R is only my 3rd Ford (2nd Mustang) but there is something about it that feels special. Enjoyable at the speed limit OR wide open at the track. It's definitely a driver's car and although the straight line performance isn't a world beater, the way the car makes you feel is out of this world.

For those that have not taken their cars to the track are missing out. The confidence you get driving this car at the limit is 2nd to none. It's the most fun track car I've driven.

There will be better performing cars and even better performing Mustangs, it still won't take away how special the Voodoo is. (Unless they somehow come out with another FPC track car, with more HP and all the other goodness that the GT350 provides)

i have not been one to think the sky is falling in the performance world but it seems ford is moving in a different direction. its a shame cause they built one hell of a car, just glad i was able to get one and mine isnt going anywhere.
