Wow. 5R002 is going up for auction again. That’s gonna net a lot.

And there is the 37th 2015 GT350R, we knew you existed.

With 5R002 being the very first Competition model produced back in 1965 I will suggest that this car should hammer well over $1,000,000 especially based on the fact that the Charlie Kemp car chassis number 5R538 went for ~$985,000 back in the Spring of 2014.

I was very fortunate to be near the auction block when the Charlie Kemp car hammered and it was a cool experience to say the least and hopefully will be able to be there when John's R first built competition model hits the block in Indy.

It was a few years ago that I viewed all of John's cars and at the time he had 2 - '66 GT350 convertibles in his stable along with a couple of '65/'66 GT350 drag cars along with a Boss 429 and a '66 GT350H 4 speed car plus too many other cars to mention.

Based on from what I can see John may have thinned out his stable of cars in recent years and wish him the best of luck on numerous levels as he is just a great guy and a real Shelby Mustang enthusiast and has the best collection of memorabilia for the early GT350 cars that I have ever seen.
