On my TT V6, I am not pushing enough power on E85 to require dual pumps (410whp/470wtq) so I was wondering if it is possible to replace/rewire the stock fuel hat to be fitted with a single walbro 450 instead of the stock pump?

Open to any suggestions as I am trying to ball on a budget here haha...

We have guys running more hp then that on the stock pump, although u are on e85.U could put a bap in and that would carry u a good way.U can do a 450 but u have to figure out how to run the venturi setup to transfer fuel.Bap would be easy.

Deatchworks has their new pump out that flows way more than the Walbro and can be had with the proper venturi outlet. They have already been retrofitted into GT350/500 hats, no reason it wouldn't be a drop in type of install for the stock single pump hats. It would be more than you need without having to mess with a BAP.

For both replies, I have been running the VMP bap and have already burned up one stock pump. I am trying to avoid doing this again in the future.

Thanks for the responses.

Also, I cannot find DW's fuel pump that you are mentioning. What is the purpose of using a venturi setup? Flow more fuel?

That's why I mentioned the DW400 pump.

Toss the BAP and stock pump in the trash.

That's the pump. You have to call in to have it fitted with the venturi outlet for the S550 tank crossover.

That might be a good option for gt350 upgrade. I am not sure it would work for a stock returnless setup since the pump probably doesn't have the internal regulator to bleed off pressure above 55PSI.

The regulator is located in the fuel pump assembly and is not part of the actual fuel pump itself.

Our Stage II Supercharger kits (PN 15862 and 15864) come with a drop-in fuel pump assembly. The assembly is built with a Walbro 400lph pump and 70psi internal regulator fitted into a stock S550 GT hat. The 400 was used as the 450 was too large to fit.

The DW400 with venturi outlet sounds like a good drop-in fit for more volume, but without modification to the regulator portion of the assembly you will be stuck with the same peak fuel as stock.

So can you add two of these to a stock gt350 setup to support more fuel?

Could the OP use a gt350 nfuel hat and just add two of these also?

Sorry to threadjack

I don't see it as much different than artificially increasing volume with voltage but rather a more reliable alternative to a BAP.

I like that these are designed to work well with e85. I have heard so many horror stories with folks on the edge of their BAP capabilities and burned out pumps.

Would the car automatically control voltage to meet the commanded fuel pressure in the tune?

That combo would be massive overkill for his setup. If he doesn't mind doing some custom work, a GT350 return style setup can be pieced together for less than $600. It only depends on your hose/regulator/fitting choices as the main cost. The pumps are only ~$180.
