I was just saving you the effort of finding the ratios for your spreadsheet.
Thanks again.

Now you've done it . . . you've got me thinking about adding another thing or three that's not in the spreadsheet either.

You are welcome. The graphs are from a Hewland gear ratio selection chart from someone in Australia I downloaded years ago. My Excel "skills" are only good enough to insert ratios, tire diameter, and rpm range but the number of gears in the graphs is done in a way I don't have a clue how to change or to do in any spreadsheet.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the 10A behaves in both normal "old man" and "passenger comfort" street driving and in "performance" driving.

May as well add a simulated 'drop the clutch' button and a fake clutch spring in the dead pedal so auto guys can play their pretend games.
Or you can just push the shifter into N and rev it and put it back?

If you desperately want an auto buy a Porsche PDK. Mustangs are supposed to be relatively inexpensive cars and so installing something with complicated algorithms on a performance auto system just ain't gonna work as well as competitors who charge more for their cars. A stick shift on a Mustang can compete much better with the best as it's not a complicated/expensive transmission system.

Comparing a PDK equiped Porsche to a Mustang........

I don't really get what you're trying to say with most of your post above, but I'd bet the 10SPD Mustang is faster than the 6SPD MT Mustang even on a road course.

We'll have to see that because the 10sp ZL1 is not faster on a roadcourse than the 6 speed stick....

1min 26.16 manual
1min 26.48 auto...then after more laps 1min 25.87 unofficially...because GM asked them to do more laps...

Bet if the manual had more run it could do the same...

Like i said we can't say the 10 spd is faster on a roadcourse...they are the same...

the thing is that LT4 is way more torquy than the coyote so it's possible that the closer ratio will be more efficient on a roadcourse for the stang...

On a road course, I would imagine the auto would overheat before the manual.

Last time I checked a forum was meant for sharing of opinions. Get off your high horse like you know the answer to everything. We were sharing our informed opinions on the situation at hand. Don't like it, suck it up buttercup. Go grab yourself a wamburger and frenchcries and sob yourself to sleep.
Grow up

1. I was not on any horses especially not a high one
2. I did not say I had the answer to anything
3. No informed opinion was given only an opinion formed on assumptions and "probably's"
4. Never said I had a problem with his opinion but rather said he should go drive one before he starts bashing the A10
5. I love buttercups
6. Not sure what a wamburger or frenchcries are but I sure wouldn't sob myself to sleep

Seriously go drive one. I hate when people have an opinion or view point when they base that opinion/view point on absolutely nothing (que you tube video) but feel people should listen to them
Agreed. There's a lot of posts on here with people just regurgitating what someone else has said instead of having first hand experience.

Gear hunting HAS been mentioned by some who have actually driven a 10A-equipped car, so it's still a bit short of perfection.

Trust me, I like the notion of closely-spaced ratios, especially once you get the car rolling. In fact I could probably like everything about it except for its automated shift logic, which isn't always going to agree with the way I'd shift doing it myself. That's why I'd like to see a +/- console gate.

When I picked up my car (with 11 miles), my 10A hunted for gears trying to figure out my driving style. After 50 more miles, it had smoothed out quite a bit.

Knowing that, I'm betting a lot of "car reviews" on the '18 10A has the adaptive learning still trying to figure out the new drivers style before the test is over.

I agree with all of this... I know I've read in the forums that the adaptive learning takes place with the A10 transmission, but I have yet to see a link verifying this. Do you know where to find this as google is coming up empty. Thanks!
