I was in the manual or nothing boat myself. But if the A10 is just as good or better than the Dodge A8, it's the better tranny. There, I said it, and I can't believe I did.

I'm a diehard manual guy, but when I drove the A8 Scat, I didn't turn back.

I do miss having a manual sometimes, but my shifter is always in S and I use the paddles 90% of the time anyway. It's not the same as shifting with a pedal and stick, but it's close enough, and when I need my hand for something I can let the auto take over. And I'll stick with my A6 until the next generation of Mustangs.

Gear hunting HAS been mentioned by some who have actually driven a 10A-equipped car, so it's still a bit short of perfection.

Trust me, I like the notion of closely-spaced ratios, especially once you get the car rolling. In fact I could probably like everything about it except for its automated shift logic, which isn't always going to agree with the way I'd shift doing it myself. That's why I'd like to see a +/- console gate.

Hell you'll gear hunt in manual mode with 10 freakin gears, at least I did. Its really easy to say a manual is more fun until you throw a modern auto around some turns.

I'm still waiting to see which manufacture will be the first to install a button somewhere to allow you to press it and free rev the Auto transmission just like being in neutral or like pushing in a clutch while stopped or moving. I'm sure it can be done and controlled with the electronics just like they do with launch control.

You either want a manual period or you don't. Mustang isn't my DD (which is an automatic), so getting an automatic was out of the question. Could be the best automatic ever (which it won't be) and I still would want to shift myself. It's just way more rewarding/satisfying to me especially as a 2nd fun car.

I would never switch to an a10 over a manual, for one i prefer to engage the gears myself, second off lets say i were to want an automatic, the engine braking feature of all automatics the last 10 years i despise and only auto i prefer is in my 4x4 4.0 ranger! For off roading purposes only and it will coast for miles down a steep hill lol...

I did opt for the A10 as the car will be my DD and will be used in daily commutes. I think I would regret myself using a manual in daily basis in queues. Today we have one car with auto and one with a stick, everytime(which is quite often) I get stuck in jams I regret not having an auto when driving the manual however when rowing the gears in the manual braking into corners etc it is very rewarding.

I hope I will like it at least at the red lights

Last time I checked a forum was meant for sharing of opinions. Get off your high horse like you know the answer to everything. We were sharing our informed opinions on the situation at hand. May as well add a simulated 'drop the clutch' button and a fake clutch spring in the dead pedal so auto guys can play their pretend games.
