Unrelated -- thanks to this forum I'm so nervous about oil leaks that I now have the very strange (in appearance at least) habit of taking a deep smell of that hood vent when I park the car at home after a drive. :headbonk:  :ford:
That's nothing. You didn't have your AC belt get chewed up by the crank and witness a plume of smoke come pouring out of your hood...in traffic. Actually in a lot of traffic. On the freeway. I wanted to go run and hide. With that being said, that hood vent very much does what it's supposed to do. Got a wind tunnel smoke test without asking for it.

More than I want to spend lol. What I think we're going to do is buy some blank carbon fiber sheets for a few hundo or whatever. My dude can easily make molds so we're going to press the carbon together with those to shape them and cut. Then start with the resin. One. Layer. At. A. Time. :faint:

Car washes in subzero temps cause the same thing with water vapor exiting the center vent. Definitely embarrassing in traffic having a practically new car with steam coming out of it.

Okay dudes, got some info from APR.

NONE of their current offerings are suitable for the S550 chassis except for the GT-250 or the GTC Drag Wing which is discontinued. The GT-250 is the exact same wing that is used on the 350S race car.

http://aprperformance.com/racing-product/gt-250-adjustable-wing/

The GT-250 is extremely adjustable and flexible for the intended use from becoming almost a gurney flap on pedestals to a low drag race wing.

APR gives aero data in the CDF Data section:

I kinda sorta know what's going on here but on this visual above, we basically get the general answers we want. The wing is also around $1,700 so take that as you will and what it's worth for you.

Still pricey, but I remember someone posting the canards previously and I thought they were MUCH more expensive then. hmmm
In case you still have some $$$ left, the Khor splitter fits OVER the R-splitter :frusty:

Lol I saw that (splitter). The canards would be for looks, if ever done. I can’t imagine I’ll get to a point (without wrecking it first) where I can out drive this car’s stock capabilities.

Would be interesting to see how they impact dynamics on a stock R, though.
