just curious if anyone knows if the '18's taillights will bolt right up to the '15-'17 models.

I believe someone posted images of a 2018 shipped with a 17's tails by mistake, so that would be a YES.

There is a post here with the part numbers and pricing.
Around $1k for the pair.

I have to say I have worked in OEM and Tier 1 automotive for awhile. That crap happens ALOT!
Agree.

It's far more common than you would expect.

A while back my buddy who worked at a BMW dealership sent me a picture a 5 series that had a blue door handle. The car was black.

Yeah we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for pick-to-light racks and cameras that do color analysis but human error is inevitable. We have 2 cars on one of our lines and one has 3 piece rear chrome trim and the other has 3 piece rear black trim. And people will still put 1 black piece and 2 chrome pieces. :frusty:

Wow, what a colossal fail for Ford QA.
I mean cars leave with huge gaps and miss panel alignments, not really a surprise. I don't think their QC is top notch these days.

Lights are not cheap. Early summer, the wife hit a GMC Envoy in the driver door (not her fault) with the Acura.

Our body shop saw a tiny chip in the passenger headlight. It's a lease, so Acura expects the car back the way they gave it to you (otherwise, you couldn't even see it unless I pointed it out). A new headlight assembly - the newer ones with the jewel LEDs?

$1700 EACH. Yes, yes - on eBay, you can get it for like $400 ish. But when insurance is paying, their not shopping for the best price.

Back to the Mustang - I'm actually surprised their not more. With that whole 3 fin thing going for it - they look pretty intricate to make. I'd have thought at least a grand each.

Or you could just leave the barely different 15-17 lights in, lol.
