And, just found my stock LS7 dyno.

That is a funky lookin' curve. I thought it was a lot flatter and progressive than that. LS7 is one of my favorite engines. Assuming the valvetrain has been addressed.

100% stock, and it trapped at 126mph. Not sure what you’re looking at to think it’s “funky”?

I said power band, not a particular number at idle. But, you could stomp on it at idle and it would fry the tires.

Look at the dyno *curves* of both engines. You yourself stated the Voodoo doesnt start making power until 4000 rpm. The LS7 looks more like a 45 degree line, the Voodoo is soft until it gets on the pipe at around 4000 rpm.

There are no dyno tests that I’m aware of that show a full throttle reading at idle. Most pulls don’t start until 3000 rpm. But that doesn’t mean some aren’t making big power down low, and carry it high.

The Voodoo makes more power than the LS7 at low RPM. The Voodoo has a wider power band than either of your example engines.

Stomping at idle and frying the tires has more to do with gearing than power band.

Here you go. Also check out some new 18 coyote Dyno numbers. More torque down low and revs to 7500 kind of like the 12/13 boss road runner engine ( code name ). The boss torque curve is similar to the GM LS engines. With the track key it holds 350+ ft-lbs of torque from 2500/7500 rpms.

I think the dyno plots prove my points. The Voodoo has a very wide power band. And the Voodoo makes more power at low RPM than the LS7. The LS7 power production drops off really steeply at low RPM near idle.

Yes of course at a given RPM a much smaller displacement NA motor won't make more power than a larger displacement NA motor.

However, if you pick a power level that both engines achieve and compare how wide the RPM range is that each engine makes that power or more, the Voodoo has a very broad power band - just like I said before.

Go back and study the numbers. You state that “the voodoo makes more power @ low rpms”. The LS7 is in green.
Nobody is going to lug an engine under 1500 rpms.

To an extent. My Z06 would do 60 in 1st so gearing wasn't in my favor with frying the tires from idle but it could do it....tires play a big role in that as well.
