Asking for opinions on what color caliper paint to use on my car. Just bought the brakemotive rotors and want to paint the ugly stock base calipers. What say you?

Go ahead and do the lime green, no risk for me and all the reward to seeing how it looks!

So my votes for either red or lime.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't use G2 caliper paint. It tends to go on very thick to the point that the result will be less than what you're envisioning. The paint won't be nice and smooth.

I've used VHT Caliper paint with their caliper primer (spray paint) on a previous vehicle with great results. Just take your time prepping to ensure the caliper is clean, really tape off everything well. The paint holds up great.

My results with G2 were simular to this guys....he doesn't like the result.

Here is a great example of using caliper spray paint. I did mine with the calipers on the car. Masked off well, it turned out perfect.

Oh, and I'd go with classic Red. Will look nice with Lightning Blue.

Another color that would look good is yellow. But I think yellow will really show brake dust/road grime. Go red.

I thought the same. But my yellow calipers actually look great, even when dirty. You have to get right up on them to notice that they aren't clean. However, due to a shift in my cars livery scheme, they will be red moving forward.

Dang, vht would be good but not a lot of colors...G2 has a lot of colors...anyone used the Pre-Val sprayer with G2? I wonder if it would be too thick...I do like the yellow...hmmm.

If you are going to spray them, you mine as well go with a true automotive base coat and activated clear coat. Call around to the local auto paint / body supply shops in your area, one of them is bound to have the ability to put automotive base coat (real base coat) in an aerosol can for you.

Then you just need to grab some Spraymax 2K clear. It has an activator in the can that makes it a legit 2-part clear that chemical hardens, identical to what is used on the car's body.

VHT's clear is not a hardened or two part clear.

That's why G2 uses epoxy paint.

I've done bumper replacements / repairs and even fenders and blends on cars where I didn't want to break out the spray guns, using this method and no one could tell the difference.
