Whats the chances of me snapping the half shafts and destroying the stock clutch with 670 whp and a hard launch on 305s mickey thompsons et s/s ? On a non prepped surface.

Whats the first to go? I'll be putting a driveshaft safety loop when I swap my wheels.

Most likely you will need to bring a tailer to the track too! We will have some great discounts in the near future the could help you out on some new axles.

My buddy snapped his on street tires and a reasonable launch at the strip.

Another broke his in the 2nd round I think on a whipple car with ET street R's (much more sidewall).

Essentially you have the worst combo ever to even risk it, lol

It's only a matter of time with the stock clutch and halfshafts at that power level. Definitely suggest taking the car on a trailer to the track until you do the upgrades.

When you're ready to do the upgrades give us a shout. We'll take good care of you. I'd recommend a Mcleod RXT setup and some DSS halfshafts. That's the same stuff we ran on our 2015 Whipple powered GT when it went 9.70@150mph.

I thought the RXT breaks the transmission? About to upgrade my clutch also so I'm shopping around.

Ben Calimer says it does, Lethal says it doesn't.

I've heard of people breaking their MT82 with all sorts of clutches. I imagine the risk is slightly higher with the RXT but I doubt it's a guaranteed death sentence.

From personal experience, we haven't run into any issues with any of our MT82 cars using the RXT. I won't try and discredit what others are saying or have had happen to them, but there will also be other variables that can help play a role in that situation. We sell a ton of Mcleod set ups for the Coyote cars, and have had great success with them.

Racing my car last weekend my car broke with the RXT. The carbon fiber driveshaft broke. RXT and MT82 held up...
