Hoping someone here can help. I have had my car at this alignment for about 2000 miles. As you can see the inner edge of the tire has corded in this short time. I feel like the alignment I have is probably a little too aggressive for street driving but not to wear out tires this quickly, could be wrong. Anyone know what could be causing this? The outer tread is still 7/32+ all the way across until the last "groove" which is down to 5/32 then corded.

Edit: Cant really see alignment sheet too well but the specs are below:

FL:
Camber: -2.3
Caster: 6.85
Toe: 0

FR:
Camber: -2.27
Caster: 7.11
Toe: -0.01

Hard to see that happening with those alignment settings. When was the alignment last checked? Even if you developed some serious toe, I wouldn't think that you'd get shoulder wear that significant in such a short time.

My guess is it's rubbing on something. Are you lowered? What wheels? Seems like it might be rubbing on the spring perch or something like that. Can you take a wheel off and look for signs of rubbing?

It was last checked when I had it set to these specs so June 16 this year I believe. I plan to get it checked again but I'm with you this is some serious wear.

Lowered on BMR perf springs since May of last year these are 275/40 PSS on stock PP wheels. I do have a 25mm spacer also. I'll check to see if it is rubbing on anything.

Verify your alignment with a different shop. I've had several shops give me different results with no changes made to the suspension. It's apparently difficult to find someone that knows what they are doing.

I would take some camber out of it if you're not tracking the car enough for that camber to end up with even wear. Try -1.5*

All of this wear is from street driving. I have a separate set of track wheels and tires and those are wearing very well which makes this even more puzzling to me.

What's puzzling? -2.3* is good for the track, but too much for street driving.

Corded tires after 2,000 miles. Based on some, albeit anecdotal, information I have gathered there are people running this much camber or more and do not have near the amount of wear I have on the front. I obviously expected some uneven wear with driving this setup on the street everyday but not this much this fast. Seems I was hoping for too much

So you had the 0 front toe and -2.3* for 2,000 miles and corded a new set of PSS? That indeed is unusual.

It's hard to tell from your pic, but what was the camber and toe in the "before" section of your alignment, and how long did you drive on that?

Lets see, I've been running 2.0 to 2.4 degrees of camber (zero toe) for 14k street miles on MPSS tires, and I've got nothing like that wear. Camber alone won't do that, let alone in 2k miles.

Something is up here. Its almost got to be rubbing on something to burn through the inside shoulder like that. Pull a wheel off and see if you can track it down.

The before specs are below:

FL
Camber: -1.33
Caster: 7.44
Toe: -.10

FR
Camber: -1.71
caster: 7.17
Toe: -0.22

I drove on it like this for at least 15K miles.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, so you ran that alignment for 15k, then now have your -2.3* 0-toe front alignment for an additional 2k (now 17k total) on your PSS that are now corded on the inside?

If so, how worn was the inner shoulder before the alignment at 15k? -that sounds reasonable.

Do PSS last that long? These performance tires don't last.
From my motorcycle tire experience from not showing cord to showing cord only takes maybe 150 miles out of a 3500 mile tire.

Out of the 15K the PSS were on for 12kish of it but yes you are correct. The front tires were wearing slightly on the inside before I added the camber but not nearly as bad as they are now. Discount tire patched one of my front tires right before the alignment was done and they did not point out any unusual wear either (which they are always looking to do it seems)
