Hey there everyone, I had a terrible day. My GT350R came in on an enclosed transport from a dealership and had the following issues:

(1) Swirl marks and scratches in paint (due to terrible dealer prep)
(2) Chunk taken of the wheel and tire
(3) Scrapes on front splitter

I spent close to $2500 to make sure my car was in immaculate shape before it was traded in (to fix any small scrapes and dents + detailing), but they OBVIOUSLY didn't do the same for me. I denied delivery of the vehicle and told the dealership to take it back.

I am extremely sad, but also fairly proud of myself that I had the presence of mind to say NO! I know better than to make a deal based on emotions rather than pure logic!

HUGE Bummer! I'm sure you were totally pumped about getting the car, then a total downer

Where are the pics? In other thread you rejoiced for saving $17000 for 960 miles and expected perfection or a new car?
Did you just throw away the shipping on a car you refused for paint which can be corrected, tire and spoiler that can be replaced For less then you just supposed threw away in shipping...what am I missing?

Something seems odd...is it just me?

It stinks that things didnt meet your expectations....but after hanging here for a while you should know perfection is never delivered by Ford or the dealer on these cars?

Was the dealer refusing to cover cost of fixing those things? I didnt see anything listed that couldnt be sorted otherwise. I put at least a half dozen things on my delivery acceptance paperwork and they greenlighted every one of them.

Yeah, I decided to cancel that deal in favor of a brand new car at a different dealership. Once the car came off of the carrier, I had my buddy (who worked as a detailer at a car dealership) look at it and he simply said "if I were you, I wouldn't take this car". Also, I wasn't expecting to have to repair anything on a BRAND NEW car!

They were willing to cover the cost of the repairs, but the detailing work to get it prepped was terrible (scratches and such). Also, I just had a bad feeling about all of it and didn't expect to have repairs needed on a brand new car.

That's all on the dealer, paint and tire should taken care of. Splitter that comes with the miles. 960 ain't new. The paint is expensive problem.

I feel trolled...if I am proven wrong I will mea culpa but why no pics?

I for one would love to see a chunk taken out that carbon R rim but that's just me.

Did the dealership ship your car in this condition and if so did the carrier make note of all of the issues as the time of pickup or did the carrier sustain the damage to your car while enroute?

If your car was picked up in this condition it should be noted on the BOL at the time of pickup and suggest that your carrier should have advised you well in advance of the delivery.

With all of the issues that you listed above why would your carrier not advise you at the time to pickup?

Every carrier will CTA when it comes to picking up a damaged brand new vehicle and suggest that they would have taken pictures as the time of pickup.

Something does not sound right here!

You are NOT being trolled; why would I troll about that? The photos of the damage are on my phone, I'll upload them when I can.

According to the dealership, everything was fine and inspected. I even called and asked if they would do a full inspection and tell me if any imperfections existed. Furthermore, they claimed that they watched the car get loaded onto the transport and there was no damage at the time. The dealership recently got back to me and said that it looked like the transporter took a joy ride in the middle of the night. However, given the condition the car was in on the outside (random scratches from "detailing" and grease marks) and the front lip that was slightly dented, I don't know what to believe any more.

They said they have another R coming in and am willing to work with me on it. However, given my experience, I am not 100% sure if I trust them. I am still evaluating if I want to move forward. Just an all in all terrible situation.

If your car left the dealership in excellent condition then your issue is with the carrier as they had to sign off on your car during the loading/pickup process.

Did you work through a logistics/3PL transport provider or did you work directly with a transport carrier?

Please advise the name of the carrier that you or your dealership hired so that the rest of us on here don't use them in the future?

;)
