Installed Steeda Progressives/Pro-action non-adjustables (need alignment specs)

After many weeks I finally got my '17 GT non-PP lowered and am VERY happy! I think the pics speak for themselves. I installed Steeda Sport Progressive springs and Pro-action non-adj shocks/struts with the Steeda bumpstops. I also have installed the Steeda adjustable camber plates.

I would appreciate if someone would please tell me what Steeda's recommended alignment specs are for front and rear. IIRC they are different than the stock GT or PP specs. I'm taking the car this weekend to a reputable place recommended by a couple of guys on this forum.

I have the optional 20" wheels (if that matters) and this is a driven-like-it's-stolen commuter car.

As my "summer of working on the car" turned into "work was nuts and I barely got the car lowered", I still have the Stop the Hop Kit, front K-brace and vertical links to install....but those things will come in time. I did at least, manage to get the billet rear shock mounts installed and love'em!

Start with setting toe to +0.06 in the rear, and 0 in the front.
Then find out what is the max camber you can get on the front (assuming you don't have plates or bolts).
Put about -1.5 camber on the rear.

Ah! Forgot to mention that I do have the Steeda adjustable camber plates. Sorry about that. Editing my OP.

I started a thread about max camber with the Steeda plates, for track days.

Try this. Put the black plastic strut caps back on that were put on for shipping. Push the strut in until the cap rests gently against the tower hole. Tighten down the 3 screws each side. Then remove the caps. See if that doesn't achieve -2.3 degrees when you go.

Called Rod; always nice speaking with him. Turns out Steeda recommends factory specs, but as dead-center within those specs, for street-driven cars. As I've got the camber plates, that shouldn't be a problem, at least up front.

I bought but did not install yet, the adjustable toe links for the rear. Does the stock rear suspension have enough tor adjustment to account for a 1" drop?

Yes, the stock rear suspension does have enough adjustment for a 1" drop.

The adjustable toe links makes for much easier toe adjustment and puts more control in the rear suspension.

Thanks very much, @SteedaTech . Appreciate the response. I just got off the phone with the alignment shop, confirming my appointment for tomorrow, so it's good to know I'll be OK with the stock rear toe adjustment for now.

I will be installing the Stop the Hop Kit, adj toe links, billet vertical links and F/R sways hopefully soon. But with how my job goes it's difficult to plan things out. So for now, it's lowered, I'll get it aligned so I can see what it "really should feel like" (and save the tires) and we'll go from there.

FYI you'll probably need another alignment after installing those parts. It wouldn't be a bad idea to wait until you've put those on.

Hey, BmacIL. Long time no see (I've not been around much since June).

Yeah, I know I'm going to need another alignment after installing all the parts I mentioned. The issue is time. I don't know when I'll be able to do so, and as my car is my DD, it needs to be running Mon-Fri unless I want to rent a car to drive to work (I don't). This summer I had exclusive access to our 2nd vehicle for a while, so the car was able to be up on stands for a few weeks.

Conceivably, the stop the hop kit is a day of work. But I worry about the "what if's" and "gotchas." I didn't have any problem getting the IRS subframe bolts back in when I did the springs, so conceivably, installing the STH kit SHOULD go easy enough.

Got a 3-day weekend coming up very soon, so I'll probably get to it then. But with my schedule there's no guarantees I will. It might turn out to be a couple of months, and I'd rather not be driving almost 100 miles a day with the alignment off...these 20" meats are pricey.

Then the upcoming holiday weekend sure is looking like the right time to do it all. I double any reasonable time estimate because...my luck. So even 8 hours is doable...even in two, 4-hour sessions. That's out of necessity.

My garage this time of year is never cooler than 90 degrees, even before the sun comes up and only gets worse from there. Only so much Gatorade/icewater you can drink before your body just says "Nuh-uh, I'm done" and you start getting sloppy. So any work in the shop starts early.

Would be GREAT to get all these suspension mods done, and the foundation of the car complete. I have other ideas/mods to get to, you know.

Ugh, yeah at those temps, closer to 5-6 just to take cooling breaks :lol:

None of what you've got on that list is particularly difficult though, so that's good. The front sway will take more time than most of the rest of it combined.

I've watched the CJPP vids for all my mods (if available) tens of times...no exaggeration. When Bill says "This can be tricky" for mere mortals like me, that means "You will throw things in anger and this will take you 2 days." LOL!

The front sway bar merited one of those comments. And I don't have a skilled helper to assist me in feeding the bar through.

I COULD call any number of buddies, but as great as they are, these guys are not mechanically-inclined to say the least...I'm the oddball in the group. Trying to explain "NO...please don't jam the swaybar...yes the round thing you're holding...don't jam the swaybar through because you'll tear off a radiator hose" will result in comments like "Why are you messing with your nice car anyway?" and "Are we done yet? You should do this during the winter...why is the blue one better than the black one, anyway?" /facepalm

So the front sway does have me a bit concerned. I really, really, really should've done the sways when I had the front struts removed...all that extra room. But I ran into some snags w/the camber plates that cost me precious time. Hence why out of the pile of parts I bought, only 30% of them are installed. :frusty:
