weird water like stains on hood....help!!!!!

So, after detailing my car to where I finally think I have her all dialed I go on vacation and somehow have water spot stains or something on the hood of my car. I just tried to wash these stains out at the local car wash bays and still have these water spots on the car.....

No idea as to what caused these spots.

Any suggestions?

This hood looked like a mirror 2 days ago. After the storm we had here at the shore all these spots showed up. Very frustrating...

Try clay bar if that doesn't work you'll have to move up to an orbital buffer with an orange pad and your choice of a cleaner wax with a cut to it.

Please don't say things like "with an orange pad" when there are more manufacturers than LC, and LC actually makes more than one orange.

You need a cutting pad if you need to cut.

Thanks guys. Yea, I do have my new Griots DA with a orange pad and Griots correcting cream but was not planning on performing any type of paint correction anytime soon.

Well.....looks like you are now. The Griots 6in polisher is awesome. Had mine for 10 yrs!

Yep, so true. So, how would you guys approach this correction? I read, start using the lightest cutting and go from there. I think, as stated earlier, I may try to clay the spots and then, if they are still there use a polish? I have griots correcting cream and not sure if that's wise to use as a first step correction...

I'd try to remove it chemically with something like Optimum MDR before abrading your clear coat
