Well FINALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
I always said it would be anywhere in the 465-475 range.
Came under what I expected from Ford but Very Very Well
Done FORD !! Not disappointing, also BRAVO on 0-60 times.
Can't wait to see 1/4 times. Still not regretting my 2017 purchase
Plan on adding: Long tube Headers, Borla Catback Exhaust & Tune
and CAI. Should put me very well in 2018 territory.

For all you that waited to buy a 2018 I say your patience has been
rewarded. Enjoy your future purchase !!!

:headbang:

Awesome.

Still getting the manual just because I like the feel of it. I know that the automatic would be "faster" because it can shift more efficiently than I ever could, but with 460hp I'm sure that I will be more than happy.

Can't wait for tomorrow...

Let's see what the dyno charts say to us. There's more to the equation than just peak numbers. What if that torque curve down low is so meaty it dare almost feels LS like? Hmm...

I guess the people betting on a conservative power bump were right.

As long as I can at least feel some difference between the power bump and drivetrain changes, that's fine, but I was hoping for something a teensy bit higher (for no very logical reason).

Not saying i would blindly purchase if this was the case but it would call for a test drive for sure.

Tomorrow's build tool will be interesting...
Ford really made a improvement when they switched from the 3 valve 4.6 to the Coyote.
540hp 5.4 to the 662hp 5.8.
This was expected if you followed the trend Ford has been setting.
Maybe this Stang will be a true low 12 car. I sure do hope so.

Wow, that's a really good number. :headbang:

Now I just hope the EU GT will also get a huge increase since the current EU GT just has 415hp. :(
EU Camaro has 446hp, so I hope the EU GT will get somewhere near that

The whole point of extra speed is to feel it. Not counting magazine racers who want to just brag about how much faster their car is than yours, the rest of us want more power or better brakes, etc because going faster is more fun... And that's where the appeal of the manual comes in.

While it may not BE as fast as an automatic, it FEELS faster and more fun to row your own gears. Even though I track my cars, I'm not racing them and trying to set the WR at my local track. The sensation of speed and connectedness with my car is all that matters.

I am sure you can bump that up later with a tune & CAI.
There is potential there for more !!! So hold on to your
jaw or risk it breaking on the floor. ;)

I bought my 2017 because I rather take a wait and see approach,
besides I can add to my garage later with a S650. :D

It's dependent on getting the exhaust system restriction for RHD cars straightened out.

Well done Ford!!!!

Now another tough decision. I wanted to get back into a 6MT but those times and the "drop the pedal and go" sure is appealing. Having the 6AT with paddles in the SHO I don't miss the MT much at all. And in traffic my knee thanks me! :)

I hear the sound of GT350 prices crashing.

In all seriousness, I think it's going to be hard for Ford dealers to move the regular GT350 during the 2018 model year without deep discounts. I wouldn't be surprised if the Auto GT with performance pack put up similar lap times for a lot less.

It'll be fine. The car as a sum of a whole is a far enough departure away from GT's that it'll be right where it should be. Regardless of performance numbers, all '18 GT350's will go and some will also, and unfortunately, drive off the lots with ADM's.

Just started a thread about this in the GT350 section of the forum. I think it's going to be hard to justify "because Shelby" in 2018.

sadly no amount of flywheel and clutch changes will make up for the MT-82 being a ripe pile. I dont want to move to an auto trans but its getting harder all the time ...sub 4 secs in a Ford with an auto...
