I'm almost sick of all the price threads on R's. They're up, they're down, etc., etc. Market is different everywhere, if you search you can find a deal (possibly), R owners want the prices to stay on the high end, non-R owners want the prices to drop.

There ya go! :clap2:
I drive mine regularly and has and will track it. I don't agree with MSRP but it is a free market. Having said that, I have my R so you all can keep going crazy over the prices LOL

Actually quite the contrary. Some have, most wont see MSRP for at least another year.

Yeah I agree. I called around recently since a bunch are popping up in dealer inventory, I was still quoted as high as 50k over. The same dipshit sold me I could get a regular GT350 for 15k over AFTER I told him I already had one that I bought at sticker

It would be fun for a bunch of us regular GT350 owners to offer selling ours to them for $7500 over. We could tell them they are still going to make money since they are still selling them for this much over. I'm sure they would go for it. ;)

I took the first one and sent a request for price. It's $10k over.....which....without even trying, isn't a bad starting price. I'd be willing to bet that, since they are at $10k right out of the gate - someone who is SERIOUS could call and arrange to buy it at $5k.

AND offering a test drive!

"Hi Jeff,

We received your inquiry into the 2017 Mustang GT 350 R . We are asking $10,000 over MSRP for the GT 350R. The Sale Price is $78,715..
Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss pricing, and to set up a time for you to stop into the dealership to test drive.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Thank You,

Roy,

Go to the ford inventory website. Use your zip code, specify 100mi radius, and spec the car. Using a zip code map, start working around the country in 100mi increments. Autotrader may or may not help you here.
This is exactly what I did before buying my '17 non-R.
I knew I was gonna buy a car, so I waited till the end of the month (That's always a good strategy. All businesses like a strong finish.) I sat down with my laptop and a pad of paper and called every dealer in the country that had an "R". Most of the guys are who get that call are low-end sales guy's, and they were all nice. I just straight up told them that I was buying a Shelby GT350, and if they were interested in an easy cash sale, I would buy their "R" immediately so long as it was MSRP...They all LOL'd and declined.

*However...I got my non-R at MSRP. Not a penny more. That exact strategy DID work. That's not to say I wasn't turned down. I couldn't believe it too. The balls it takes to turn down a sale. The cars are all over the place and in any color combo you'd want. Who would pay thousands over when all you have to do is travel to get it, or just ship it. A one-way flight to wherever it is, that and the Uber ride from the airport to the dealer (a few told me they'd pick me up at the airport), are WAY less than the 5-10K over that some are asking.

My '17 Raptor...that was a hard to get vehicle. I did pay 5K over and was damn happy to get it. I found that out of state and though I paid over by five grand, they did deliver it to my house. Great people those smaller town dealers. A verbal commitment is all they required and all was good.

^True indeed. Got my R ironically in FL via emails/calls... just be seriously ready to commit over the phone with a deposit after negotiations and a price I was comfy with.

Last Sept last year.... got my Raptor allocation at sticker via phone. Massashussetts dealer. I specifically asked for a late allocation l so that I can take delivery in 2017. Eight months later... drove up, traded in, drove home... :D

They don't sell anything over sticker... not even GT350's. But they're small time so no R's unfortunately. It would have been mine anyway. PM coming....

I found a 2017 2017 Race Red GT350R for $4.5 over. I am so close to getting it. But I am trying to play several others down.

This is for real. I am thinking of not getting it and letting someone else have it. And I might get the Ruby Red one.

Congrats, maybe you found a good deal on an R - now seems like the perfect time to start playing games....

This tells me, and likely the dealers, too - that you aren't serious.

To the person that PM'ed me, let me know if you get it. I told the dealer that I am passing and you can have it. I sent you the dealers name and internet salesman and phone number.

Good luck.

It looks very nice.
